They were our guests on many of our early podcasts. We knew right away that we had a couple of stars in our midst and that they needed their own show. It took a while, but we're thrilled to finally bring you the first episode of Law Talk with Epstein & Yoo, which as Rob point out below, is courageously hosted by our own Troy Senik. This week, the Professors cover the constitutionality of Obamacare, the Patriot Act, whether or not a foreign country really could arrest a former President, and a fascinating debate on whether corporations deserve the same expectations of privacy that individuals get. It's law school without the tuition or the stress!

Give it a listen. Or better yet, subscribe!

Thanks so much for putting this together.  Well done.  Alone worth this month's grande latte.  Dare I say worth two.  I think it would have been if there had been time to discuss the Dodd Frank bill.  I hope circumstances do in fact allow its inclusion in next months agenda.

I second that.  Epstein and Yoo were superb as per usual, but I was really impressed by how well prepared Mr.Senik was.

Finally after nearly a year of following Ricochet, as a poor undergraduate and now a poorer law student, I finally broke down and subscribed, largely because I hoped to engage in the conversations with Professors Epstein and Yoo.  A week later Law Talk begins. I couldn't be happier to have joined.

Are we going to have the opportunity to suggest topics for discussion?  If so, the article Richard discussed at the 50th anniversary of the New Deal at Yale law school, "The Historical Origins and Economic Structure of Workers' Compensation," would make for an interesting, and germane discussion today.

Exceptional podcast.

I'm actively listening and keep hearing "you know." Mr. Yoo employed it the most. It's very distracting.

I, too, had the same habit. All it took was a Friend to answer Me "Yes" or "No" every single time I said it. I began to develop a habit of thinking before improv[ing]. And got faster at it.

Truly, an excellent podcast.

Great stuff.  I really enjoy all this content that y'all are providing.  Thank you.  For being a non-lawyer, I find any constitutional law discussions fascinating.

Welcome, Ultra!  And yes, we should figure out a way to take requests....

Yes- I'd like to hear a discussion about whatever happened to the writ of mandamus enforced by Congress on the executive, and why they don't really seem to exist any longer.

Troy was very Robinsonian in mediation. I hope Ricochet picks up this pilot for a whole season.

Troy Senik

In the Ricochet universe, I take that as the ne plus ultra of compliments. Thank you, Casey.

Both Professor Epstein and Professor Yoo have indicated that they're happy to take your questions. We may not be able to get to all of them, but we're happy to take suggestions. We may set something more formal up in the future, but for now feel free to post them here. Get them in soon, as we record again at the end of next week.

I'm not a lawyer, nor do do I play one on TV. However, I did enjoy and learned from the pilot episode enormously. Great job!

Pardon a moment of trivia, but I'm just getting to the podcast, and at the beginning, Prof. Epstein says something like sic tempus gloria mundi, and his translation is a little jumbled. I'm sure he's just slightly misremembered sic transit gloria mundi, “thus passeth the glory of the world.” Given this is the sole point on which I expect to ever be able to assist Professor E., I figure I should submit it here.

I believe you are correct Monsignor Emeritus Walsh. I should point out that Nobody Expects A Papal Coronation.

I would like to know if either Professors Epstein or Yoo are familiar with the work of Harold Berman or if such an interest means I have a terminal case of canon law geekiness.
