Smokey and the Bandit

Epstein goes to China, Senik goes to Nashville, Yoo (and his beloved Phillies) don't go anywhere. After we get all that out of the way, the profs and host Troy Senik get down to the legal nitty gritty: the controversy surrounding Justice Steven's new book, Clarence Thomas' legacy, a great discussion on the Stolen Valor case, and we wind up batting around the legality of warning other drivers about speed traps with your high beams. Officers Yoo and Epstein break it down for you.

It's the law: everyone can listen in below, but if you want to get the nation's most beloved law professors in your ear buds or other mobile device (or subscribe), you gotta be a Ricochet member. Join today!

Our everlasting thanks to the great EJHill for the illustration.

The question not asked concerning the Florida brights flashing case is "what is the point of the original law, to keep people from speeding or to create a revenue stream for local municipalities?"

I'll triple that emotion. Very funny.

Sadly, I would actually pay to see a Law Talk buddy comedy movie.

An addendum to Troy Senik's discovery of the South's secret to life, adding "gravy to everything": the one exception is chicken and waffles, which requires syrup.

Listened to it twice.  Maybe it primed the pump for brain explosion.  :)

After we had wandered all over China for 10 days, our daughter and her cousin went to eat Peking Duck- in Beijing- and my wife and I headed for McDonald's.  We had simply had enough of eel, spicy beef tendon, and other inedibles.

May I note that the weekly Ricochet podcast was front-loaded with learned discussions of classical music, wherein all three participants expressed love for Mahler and Bruckner.  The event was bookended by excerpts from glorious symphonic music.  They talked about the loss of middlebrow culture that appreciated actual melody.

Then we got to the end of Law Talk, and listened to some guy screaming out three notes over a throbbing near-monotonic bass line and banging drum.

Big tents for "music", not political views?  (Grin)
