I never much care about endorsements -- from the media or individuals -- because they're so boring. But this one from the Las Vegas Review-Journal is anything but:

This administration is an embarrassment on foreign policy and incompetent at best on the economy – though a more careful analysis shows what can only be a perverse and willful attempt to destroy our prosperity. Back in January 2008, Barack Obama told the editorial board of the San Francisco Chronicle that under his cap-and-trade plan, “If somebody wants to build a coal-fired power plant, they can. It’s just that it will bankrupt them.” He added, “Under my plan … electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket.” It was also in 2008 that Mr. Obama’s future Energy Secretary, Steven Chu, famously said it would be necessary to “figure out how to boost the price of gasoline to the levels in Europe” – $9 a gallon.

Yet the president now claims he’s in favor of oil development and pipelines, taking credit for increased oil production on private lands where he’s powerless to block it, after he halted the Keystone XL Pipeline and oversaw a 50 percent reduction in oil leases on public lands.

These behaviors go far beyond “spin.” They amount to a pack of lies. To return to office a narcissistic amateur who seeks to ride this nation’s economy and international esteem to oblivion, like Slim Pickens riding the nuclear bomb to its target at the end of the movie “Dr. Strangelove,” would be disastrous.

Candidate Obama said if he couldn’t fix the economy in four years, his would be a one-term presidency.

Mitt Romney is moral, capable and responsible man. Just this once, it’s time to hold Barack Obama to his word. Maybe we can all do something about that, come Tuesday.

Great sentence!   At least the journalists freely use narcissistic now when referencing him :)

How I wish I could vote on Tuesday! I totally agree that Governor Romney is a fine, experienced man, and will be a great President.

Someone was on Canadian TV just now, and I didn't catch his name, only what he ended up by saying that even if Obama had a slight edge over Romney in the Polls, but that doesn't mean he will win the election.

Maybe it sounds better because it's not exactly intended to be an endorsement of Romney (at least not a formalized "this paper endorses Mitt Romney for President."

It is a blistering criticism of Obama in many different ways, though. It's nice to see.

Anybody know whether this paper typically leans right or left?

The history of growing energy use is the history of human progress.  Block energy use, and you end more than progress; you end human life at the margins.  Wealthy people and countries will survive, the poor will not.

Praying earnestly between now and Wednesday. More and more people, even in the media, are going public with criticism of the incumbent. May it be sufficient to give courage to enough voters to go with Romney, and those in Congress who will be willing to work with him.

Wow.  This, plus new breaks in the media blockade of Benghazi, it is almost refreshing, if it weren't so vitally serious. Huh.

You know, I thought I had checked the member feed to make sure it wasn't on there, but I failed to refresh ... I think I'll be better at this in six days when things calm down a bit! Sorry, flownover!

The Las Vegas Review-Journal is the most, small "l," libertarian paper in the country!

This is one of the most stinging anti-endorsements I've ever read. I don't know the paper's editorial history, who it has endorsed in the past or what it's normal tone is, but on its face this is devastating and deserves to go viral, fast.

Ahem .... flownover was the original poster, thankyouverymuch. Jimmy Carter simply alerted me to the double post.

Also, I wish I were drinking and not working .... (or, you know, working and checking in at Ricochet, too...)

Perfect, simply perfect. A way must be found to tempt EJHill to exercise his skills on this.

Hear Hear !!

I think this is the most damning article yet ! Leave it to a journo to write something that surpasses our pusillanimous slate of pundits and candidates , afraid to say the name of the failure that dare not speak it's name......obama..

Could the be the last time he visits Vegas this weekend ? I wish I could have been a fly on the wall at the Ritz Carlton when Harry Reid called the publisher !

I believe the LV Review Journal endorsed Obama in 2008. Not sure if this endoresrment will help, but it ain't gonna hurt.

Pusillanimous, finally! That is the word taunting me; on the tip of my tongue, yet eluding me, during the last four years.

If we lose this election gentlemen, it's been a pleasure blogging with you.   It's great how 50 cent words lessen the sting of another 5 trillion of non-existent investments.

King Prawn,  anytime they want imagery designed to create reactions similar to horrific flatulence in a crowded elevator they can call me.    If Obama wins you can find me in  the Washoe County Correctional institute for seditious  slacktivists.  If Romney wins I'll be at the ocean, in that town we talked about, you know the name.  I hope the Pacific is as blue as they say it is.
