I love Andrew Klavan's new episode of KOC.  And I know you will too.

Just awesome. We NEED more people to know the name, work, and wisdom of Andrew Klavan. Spread the word, people!

Hilarious.

Since we are mentioning "So I Married an Axe Murderer" , there's a scene where the crazy lady offers Mike Myers breakfast and promises him silver dollar pancakes, fresh squeezed OJ, canadian bacon, and Kona coffee.  Then cut to him eating cereal and her saying "Sorry I didn't have those other things"

Reminds me of every promise Obama made that I liked(lobbyists, transparency, bi-partisanship).  Instead we got obamacare and a sorry i didn't mean those other things.

I love Klavan on the Culture, but the gaffes Andrew chose were just normal, run-of-the-mill mistakes that happen to every  politician.  That's not what worries me about Bachmann; it's stuff like this painfully inept critique of climate change.

See!?  Carbon dioxide can't be a greenhouse gas because it's plant food!

Or watching the self-styled Mrs. Tea Party confusing Concord, NH with Concord, MA.

(For the record, I'm both a climate change skeptic and a Tea-Partier).

Speaking of gaffes, I can only imagine EJ creating an Obama/Biden Gaffomatic machine.

Andrew forgot the corpseman and the doctors who cut off legs when you have a tonsil infection. But the gaffes are nowhere near as serious as the hatred, infused in his heart, of capitalism and the exceptionalism of individual liberty that are embued in our Constitution and Declaration of Independence. Michele Bachmann may not be a rhetorician, but she loves this country and believes in liberty. I love her for that.

Um, I looked at the video, and I don't think it's inept - it's the basic carbon cycle that I learned at high school, err, 50 years ago. She is off in the percentage of CO2 in the atmosphere - it is 0.039%, not 3%, so I guess that is a gaffe. But her point is correct, actually more correct than she said - CO2 is a trace gas, it's greenhouse effect is almost saturated (i.e. it's already absorbing almost as much radiation as it can), and tiny compared to that of water (and methane).

CO2 is plant food - more plants, more water, more clouds, which block the sunshine and reflect it back into space - so there is negative feedback, not the positive feedback assumed by climate scaremongers (it is positive in the case of water vapor, but most water in the atmosphere is in the form of clouds).

Mitt Romney, on the other hand, went along with Mr Gore...

So, Bachmann for President :-)

Wonderful lampoon of – what’s Breitbart call it? – the Democrat Media Complex (DMC).  And Alinsky had it right: ridicule is the most effective form of counter-battery fire. So hats off to the brilliant Mr. Klavan.  It’s all about the DMC’s willingness to aid and abet the Distractor-in-Chief . . .  how depressingly predictable do the slack jaw DMC lackeys have to be before they drive themselves out of business?  “Don’t look at the $Trillion$ in deficit spending over there, you’ll miss the racists throwing Granny from a cliff and torching the Weather Service!!  Barry O – the great compromiser!”

Excellent as always Mr. Klavan.  Ridicule is a formidable tool and conservatives should use it more because leftist positions are a target rich environment.  Unfortunately, too many on the right are too nice or polite to point out embarrassing gaffes on the left, we save that for our own.

What does it mean to be green? I always assumed it meant living in such a way, and supporting positions that promoted green lifeforms i.e. plants.  You know, policies for "green spaces", parks and the like, as opposed to the grey spaces of former East-bloc nations and their environmental disasters.  Well, I propose a large carbon footprint to support as many green lifeforms as possible which would then mean more oxygen for the pink lifeforms like us.  Or we can follow Sen. Reid's thinking "carbon makes us sick"

P.S. Do more trees mean more water?

I'm surprised that you don't see how much better your arguments are than Rep. Bachmann's: she never once mentioned the Carbon Cycle, never once mentioned negative feedback, and never once mentioned the effects of other greenhouse gases.  Instead, she spent nearly two minutes arguing that because C02 is natural it must be harmless.  That is not how we're going to win against the climate scare mongers.

Forgive the paraphrase, but I'd rather be governed by the first thousand members of Ricochet than by the likes of Michele Bachmann.

So when are we getting a director's cut DVD of all the Klavan on the Cultures?

Since we know that won't be the choice, I'd rather be governed by M. Bachmann than the likes of B. Obama. How about you? I think $Trillion$ deficits and massive piled-up debt with no end in sight (not even theoretically in Obama’s plan), will end us as a nation worth living in long before CO2 or any other greenhouse gas (even accepting the most dramatic climate change thesis).
