Re: John Maynard Keynes Is Not a Country In Africa
Proving, once again, that the Democratic party is the smart party.

This is why it's so fun to debate liberals - like shootin' fish in a barrel!

Turnabout is fair play, but I generally don't like the "let's make fun of the stupid people" form of snarky comedy. It doesn't make me feel superior -- only lucky. And it invariably invites the even-more-mean-spirited comparison of how many stupid people on your side versus our side.
I defense of the lefty-sanity crowd, i will say that there were quite a number of clever signs that emerged. The best one I saw was: What Do We Want? Patience! when Do We Want It? Now!

Trace, I know that you're generally very anti-red meat. But considering all of the liberal smugness on parade at that rally, I thought it appropriate to point out that the smugness is unmerited.

Lest others tread deeper into that YouTube channel thinking (as I did) "Hey, Second City has some kinda-funny snarky conservatives!" -- don't get your hopes up. Snarky, sure. Conservative, not so much.
Trace, I'm with you to a certain point. I generally don't care for these clips unless they find a noisily clueless interviewee who is so fed up over... something. In this instance, the lady voicing her hope that the stupid people aren't the ones who vote "on November" fits the bill in humorous fashion.

Keynes changed his name to Zimbabwe late in life

Keynesian and Kenyan are close enough that I'm not going to make any sweeping judgements on those people in the video as much as I wanted to chuckle.
I'd be more interested if they sported a huge poster of Keynes' face saying "WHO IS JOHN KEYNES?" in a sort of Randian fashion... See if any of them even know who that old dead white european man is or why he stalks the earth like a zombie devouring brains and excreting hope-and-change and trillion dollar deficits.

Re: John Maynard Keynes Is Not a Country In Africa
Many of you may recall the "Fear the Boom and Bust" rap anthem, which was created by director John Papola and economist Russ Roberts of the George Mason University. It featured "Keynes" and "Hayek," who rapped about the state of the economy. If you are not familiar with it, you may view it here.
Papola and Roberts are creating a new music video of the same type now. A few days ago, a live preview was performed at the Economist's Buttonwood Gathering, where it was viewed by financial managers and CEOs, politicians, central bankers and Nobel Prize-winning economists. The artists gave a great performance, and it was interesting to watch the reactions in the audience. I wonder if Paul Krugman was present.
The performance was followed by a brief interview with Papola and Roberts.
I encourage you to view it here.

It makes me worry that there is yet another generation without the foggiest idea of the "ideas" that shape our world.
