That's the headline at Politico right now. I think this is one of those modern moments when words, and indeed life itself, temporarily cease to have meaning.
Joe Biden's bringing sexy back— to the Medicare-eligible set...
That's all I dare quote from this article. Bill Clinton made us ask what the meaning of "is" is. Now Biden is prompting me to contemplate the meaning of the word "symbol." Or is it "sex" that needs defining here?
But ladies, please, this isn't even a question, is it?

Let's take this by the horns, so to speak. When I buy my dog's license every spring there are three choices under "sex," M, F & N. Can Joe Biden symbolize any of those?

The list of words redefined or simply stripped of meaning by the left is extensive. Whether it is a giant deconstructionist joke that we're not in on or a haphazard strategy that will ultimately backfire is my question of the moment.

Whoever wrote that article is reaching so far that they've toppled over and slid face-first down a jagged mountainside, through a series of barbed-wire fences, and into the world's largest (gently steaming) manure pile.

Thanks, Tabula. I'll try to be less repressed from now on. ;-)
Besides, Biden/manure pile made a lot more sense than Biden/sex symbol.
Next time I'll go the basil/lemongrass route when it comes to aromatics.

Yes, why do they keep pushing President Tuvok and Crazy Uncle Joe as sex symbols? Even my favorite show, "Parks and Recreation", had the character Leslie Knope fantasize about Biden. Now if you didn't know Joe, and had never heard one of his mastodon-sized gaffes fall flat (on hard wood, no less), you might agree that he was a nice looking old gaffer. But grist for the fantasy mill? Nah....

If a vain man who cuddles a girl young enough to be his grand daughter (?) is sexy, good heavens but standards have fallen very low. Must be Hollywood standards.

Thanks indaba. Biden seems like a nice looking guy. But "sex symbol" seems by several steps a semantic stretch. Of course, there's nothing more important for the media to be reporting on right now, right?
