James Bond, Where Art Thou in This Hour?

Anyone else struck by the impression that George Soros and Julian Assange would make pretty perfect Bond villains? I mean, add a Persian cat or a stocky Korean with a razor-edged bowler, and you expect them to be trading ominous badinage with our hero over the baccarat table or unleashing frickin’ sharks with frickin’ laser beams attached to their frickin’ heads.
Alas, even cinema‘s Bond is on the beach at the moment. And not the exciting one with Ursula Andress, either.

Anyone else struck by the impression that, in James' world we would have already plugged the WikiLeaks.

I think that Dr No was the first movie I saw in a cinema, and I must have watched it dozens of times since. But I always thought her name was Ursula Undress .... And what a quintessential female character, almost smart, but she hadn't finished reading her encyclopedia. A fantasy female indeed.

As you will recall, Dr. Evil did not allow his Mini-Me to gnaw on the kitty cat even a little. Mini-Soros may be a different story, though.

Jonah Goldberg made the excellent point in a recent article that if the CIA and military industrial complex were half as evil and nasty as Hollywood and the Left make them out to be that the Wikileaks guy would've been deep-sixed before he could take a leak, let alone put thousand of secret documents on the web...
