"It's Called Obamacare because the President Cares"
Last August at a stop in Cannon Falls, MN that he made as part of his bus tour through America, President Obama said,
...part of the Affordable Care Act, health care reform, also known as Obamacare —by the way, you know what? Let me tell you. I have no problem with folks saying 'Obama cares.' I do care. (applause) If the other side wants to be the folks who don't care, that's fine with me. But yeah, I do care about families who've been struggling because of crushing health care costs.
This was, best I can tell, his earliest attempt to actually embrace the Obamacare pejorative. Now the Washington Post's "The Fix" blog is reporting that the Obama reelection campaign is adopting "I like Obamacare" as a central meme of the reelection's social media efforts.
As it turns out, you can purchase your very own "I like Obamacare" pack (pictured above) at the Obama for America store for just a little less than my monthly health insurance premiums have increased due to Obamacare in 2012 alone. Listed as the description next the tee, bumper sticker, and button combo: "It’s called Obamacare because the President cares. Show that you do too."

I have to admit, that's a great line. I always figured the Democrats would embrace the term sooner or later. I doubt it'll help them very much politically, though.

You bet he cares: he cares about which doctor you see, he cares about which medical treatments you receive, he cares about how much you should pay for them. In fact, he cares so much that he's willing to decide these matters for you. A gem, he is.
"I Like Obamacare," indeed. What a bunch of hooey.
Tell you what... I don't much like section 5000A of the IRC (mandate & penalty). How 'bout you go kill a forest and read it up to that point before telling me how wonderful this new law is?

I guess the t-shirt will make me look cool when I go out, but do I have to get the whole pack? Even the buttons? Of course! The pack isn't complete without the buttons! The buttons are the linchpin of the pack. But I don't want the buttons. Buttons are only good for poking yourself accidentally. They're a horrible idea. Yes, but you have to have the buttons. See, it won't work without them. The buttons are the whole reason we put the pack together in the first place. Don't worry, though, they're perfectly harmless! It's not like anyone's going to take us to court over them, haha!

President Obama cares so much about your health care that he positively insists you share his views--or at a minimum comply with his wishes. Or else.

Re: "It's Called Obamacare because the President Cares"
On the rare occasion that I've discussed this bill with liberals, I considered using its legal name instead of the one opponents gave it. But then I remembered that the real name is just as political.
Sometimes, I wish politicians were banned from naming bills. "MCXVII 2.0.430, Vol 4" would be easier to swallow than "Affordable Care Act".
If you type "Obamacare" into Google, the first link is Obama's website, under the title "Obamacare works" at www.barackobama.com/Obamacare.

Exactly. And then you will remember your dire need for health services.

Has anyone put Obamacare Delenda Est on a t-shirt yet?

President Obama is relatively skilled at obfuscating the suffocating paternalism animating his ideology of compulsory compassion. To see the malady in its undiluted form, watch Milton Friedman trap then NHTSA director Joan Claybrook into revealing her view that Professor Friedman can't value his own life as much as Ms. Claybrook values his life because of the Nobel-winning economist's reluctance to submit to the latest presidential caring, on this occasion concerning seatbelt use. (the fun begins at 37:31 and runs to 38:42 in this clip from Free to Choose)

You should totally do it. I'd take one or two.

To my knowledge Russ Feingold was the only Democrat to make a campaign issue of his support for ObamaCare in 2010. We all know how that worked out.

Maybe that's why it appeals to this San Francisco resident. The wrong people won't know what it means and won't hurl insults at me or spit in my food. The right people will know what it means and will feel a secret kinship.

I guess that t-shirt is so long because the administration feels the need to cover its a*s.

Hey, I did my own little intervention yesterday in downtown Manhattan. Actually, I wanted "Breitbart to be there," but all i got was Nostradamus and a color-misidentified suit: http://tinyurl.com/cbusa78

Wow! You're the bystander in the "black suit and striped tie who stopped to listen"? Awesome!
So cool.

Well, things that collect taxes and slash Medicare before the outlays kick in can pretend to "reduce the budget deficit". It's like someone in a restaurant claiming their diet is low-calorie because the dessert hasn't gotten there yet.
Well done, ParisP!
