Is the World Spinning Off Its Axis?

Within forty-eight hours, both The Independent and The Guardian have published pieces about the Palestinians and Israel that are absolutely on-target. The Independent punctures the Palestinian "Arab Spring" balloon, while The Guardian -- the Guardian! -- disembowels Mahmoud Abbas's mendacious editorial in The New York Times. It states in the clearest possible terms that Abbas has revealed his true goal to be the conquest of the entire state of Israel.
Maybe we really are approaching the Rapture. I think I'll go lie down.

The End is Saturday, after all.

The view from Londonistan probably is a little clearer than it is from the US. There, they just have to have walk around with their eyes and ears open.

Re: Is the World Spinning Off Its Axis?
This is my favorite quote in The Guardian piece:
If the Palestinians had accepted the November 1947 UN general assembly partition plan, they could be celebrating their 63rd year of independence alongside Israel. There would have been no war and no Palestinian refugees. But that ship has sailed.
Every move they've made since 1947 has worsened their situation. There's no "do over".

Re: Is the World Spinning Off Its Axis?
I don't think The Independent let as much air out of the balloon as they should have. They pulled their head out of the sand long enough to see what's really taking place. Then promptly shoved it back in.
First paragraph of the linked article...
"Skirmishes between Palestinian refugees from Syria and Lebanon and Israeli security forces ended with at least a dozen deaths and scores more injured on Sunday. Thousands of protesters boarded buses and descended on borders at the Golan Heights, Gaza strip and West Bank to reject Israel’s ongoing incursion on the anniversary of the Nakba. They were systematically shot as they attempted to cross the border to their home."
The Independent is upset that the border invasion didn't fit the "Arab Spring" narrative and they had to actually open their eyes.
Israel is an evil occupier. Hezbollah is naughty. The Independent's sympathies certainly haven't changed.
The Guardian - Much better. I wonder how this article got past the editor...

It's probably all part of some cosmic conservation of anti-Israel opinion, the switch of The Independent and The Guardian attempting to counterbalance the President's pronouncements today on what Israel's borders should be.
