Is the new Christine O'Donnell television ad likely to change hearts and minds about the Republican senate candidate in Delaware?

Funny, George - I just posted a commented on Dr. Rahe's thread about this.
I think it's pathetic. She's trying to play the Palin card here - minus the family, minus the political track record, minus any record of accomplishment.
She's almost saying, "I know you've got a few screws loose out there, so vote for me!"

Re: Is Christine O'Donnell You?
No, but she is invited to play in my bi-weekly D&D game.
Re: Is Christine O'Donnell You?
Isn't one of the first rules of political campaigns to not mention your opponents allegations against you?
Did she really think there was enough people out there who actually thought she might be Samantha Stevens that she had to keep the issue in the headlines herself by bringing it up?
It's not Watergate, for goodness sakes!

She should have been petting a kitten. What an utter phony.

I'm not nearly as attractive as Christine O'Donnell, so no.

That better not be 4th edition D&D. ;-)

Since nobody really believes she is, or ever was, a witch, the beauty of mentioning it in the ad is, it gives her tons of free media play for a very good sympathetic ad. Take out the word "witch," and no mainstream news show would play it. I think it's a great ad.

Re: Is Christine O'Donnell You?
I think it will help. Those who have been castigating her as a nutjob have overplayed their hand. She's not a nutjob. She not whacked out. She a normal citizen, passionate about her country and seriously appalled at the liberal values and policies that are destroying it. And she's been willing endure media hell to do something about it.
This will appeal to fair-minded Americans.

Re: Is Christine O'Donnell You?
Nobody really knows how an advertisement or marketing strategy will work. Somebody in Atlanta could have shown you reams of data that said everybody was going to bust down the doors for "New" Coke.
Advertising doesn't make you want to buy a car. Only you can put yourself in the market and then the advertisements may only lead you toward the possible choice.
People are in the market for changing DC. All she needs to do is show the people of Delaware that she's up to the task and won't embarrass them. This is a good first step.

What an opportunity lost. I would have gone all Monty Python with this featuring a full cast of Democrats as the motley peasants.

They way she looks, and the atmosphere, the only thing missing is the hat.

Perhaps: if I were a flat-busted woman in need of steady employment; and if, having endured the dunking, she confesses.
Truly, she is nothing like Sarah Palin

This ad sounded like a joke without a punch line. I was waiting for Bill Maher to appear but nothing happened.

I don't see Chris Coons in the ad calling her a witch, so your video is inapposite.

In answer to your title question; no, O'Donnell isn't me - I pay my employees.

Re: Is Christine O'Donnell You?
It would be a good ad if she wasn't reading from a teleprompter. The tone is great. Rather than combat being called a loon with argument, she responds with a smile and calmly moves on. Michael's right that it's the same strategy Reagan used. The problem is that she looks like she's reading something that's been prepared for her, so it comes off as not entirely genuine.
I didn't realize she's so young. That will hurt her with folks who want to see experience, but it will probably help to convince others that she's truly a non-politician who is serious about reform. Young people are generally less willing to compromise. That image could help her in the current political climate.

Yeah, every normal citizen I know sues their employer for $6.97 million on totally specious grounds.
Call me a cynic; I've reviewed perhaps 100,000 resumes over the course of my career. If I'd ever handled hers, I would have felt an irresistible urge to cleanse my hands with Purell.
