This is a disturbing story:

The head of Iran's nuclear programme is holding talks in Moscow on expanding co-operation with Russia.

The visit of Gholamreza Aghazadeh, comes a week before a crucial meeting of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna.

The meeting is due to decide whether to refer Iran to the United Nations Security Council for possible sanctions over its nuclear programme.

Iran has warned of "consequences" if Europe refers Iran to the UN.

Disturbing, but not surprising. Russia has been a key player in the Iranian bomb program for years.

Claire Berlinski, Ed.

None of it is surprising.

Ya, well, this is a comforting story. Take that! (Seriously, check it out; it might make you feel better.)

Sort of what one would expect, though, isn't it, when we are desperate to "re-set" relations with both parties?

Now, Claire, according to a certain participant in last week's Republican debate, Iran is just out there fishing for respect.  Nothing for us to worry about at all, right?
