Introducing New Feature: Alerts
You've asked for it, and we've delivered. To help you keep track of the activity on Ricochet you're most interested in, we have begun work on an alert system that will notify you of new comments in conversations you are following or when a comment or posting of yours has been liked, followed, quoted, shared, etc.
This weekend, we've launched the first phase of these social features, which will notify you of new comments in conversations you have written or are following.
To see your alerts, you must be logged in. Click on the "Alerts" link at the top right hand corner of your screen to see your five most recent alerts. At the bottom of that list, you can click to see all alerts or to modify your settings.
Over the coming weeks, we'll be making many new additions and improvements to the alert system to further enhance your Member experience. Please let us know what you think!

Re: Introducing New Feature: Alerts
Like it so far. It's like the Facebook alerts to my posts. I just wish it had mobile-phone functionality, eventually (hint, hint).
Re: Introducing New Feature: Alerts
We plan on introducing text alerts, and yes, eventually mobile site functionality!

Re: Introducing New Feature: Alerts
I haven't click on the Alert yet to see what's in there. But I'm already excited to see what's there. Its like Xmas morning when I was a kid, I'm bursting to see what under the tree.

Good, now I wont have to "follow" every single topic that I post in just to keep up with the conversation.

If you can get email from your phone, then you can set up the current alert to send you an email.

Re: Introducing New Feature: Alerts
Good, but there is one snag. The placement of the "Alerts" is right under the "Sign Out" so on the iPhone it is easy to press "Sign Out" instead of "Alert". Any one else have this problem?

Re: Introducing New Feature: Alerts
I am excited about the talk of many new features and site upgrades and I'm very pleased the editors are brainstorming ways to improve all the time!
Re: this feature, I found the Alert button a bit of a distraction and shut it off (it becomes unweildly if you 'follow' more than one conversation, I felt). But, you know, the fact that I can customize it to suit me is a good thing and should be applied to other features as they are implemented.
