In other news: Dancing With The Stars

Resolved: In terms of blending television technology, skills, and entertainment, Dancing With The Stars represents the pinnacle of the medium. I started watching it as a joke so I could pretend I was into it for my radio show, but I became hooked during season 2. Season 10 brings us Bristol Palin, who is adorable and normal, and caused me to actually vote for only the second time since watching this show.
As of last night, real America has kept Bristol alive while kicking the hideous "Situation" to the curb weeks ago.

Never seen it.
I kinda prefer artists who've worked their whole lives to perfect their craft, instead of a Governor's daughter who achieved celebrity by getting knocked up.

Bristol's already won for all practical purposes, having outlasted the horrible Margaret Cho.
I've never watched "Dancing With the Stars", but Bristol's incredible run might encourage me to give it a view. Go daughter grizzly!

After reading this, Mike Murphy is on the phone voting against her.

Well, if O'Donnell pulls off the upset tonight, she might not have time... ;)

Admit it Joe, if the women weren't practically naked you wouldn't watch the show...

Re: In other news: Dancing With The Stars
When did having an illegitimate child cease to be shameful and become instead a ticket to celebrity?
You would think that Sarah Palin, purported exemplar of family values, would have explained the difference to Bristol.

Nice sleight of hand there, Kenneth. It wasn't the illegitimate child that was the ticket to celebrity.

Of course it was. How many other Governors' daughters can you name?
Re: In other news: Dancing With The Stars
That's the genius. I can continue convincing myself that I am watching wholesome programming. That helps me. But don't get me wrong. I do a lot of fast forwarding. They key to this show is the judges. They are all 3 professionals who contribute something to the show every time they open their mouths, unlike American Idol whic is a pity when it comes to the judging, other than Simon. People who speak the truth are compelling. Surround them with dancing girls and I'm sold. Do it live? It's a modern marvel. I'm easily amused as you can tell.

I'd like to see Bristol win so she can help her mother's cause.

Re: In other news: Dancing With The Stars
I've watched and loved it for years, particularly the British version Strictly Come Dancing; which also features Len Goodman, but has no commercials. Len is a former world champion of legend, and really knows his business. He started as a boy. The judges on both side of the pond are great.
So true, Joe, I convince myself that I'm watching wholesome programming when really it's the best soft porn you'll find anywhere. My Lord, those women can be hot! And the occasional wardrobe malfunctions add to the excitement.
Did you catch Jennifer Gray's Tango a couple of weeks ago? I have not the words to describe her.......
