Michael Bloomberg says he has no intention of challenging Obama for the presidency in 2012.

In other news, Jerry Brown says he'd certainly run for president again, if only he were younger.

Sorry for the disappointment this news may have caused any of you.

With this string of turn-downs.... has anyone asked Obama?

We're all too afraid that he'll announce his intention to run again.

I too am announcing that I will not run in 2012, although I am still uncertain whether I will make myself available for next year's NFL draft.

Have we heard yet from Al Sharpton as to his 2012 plans?

Surely James Taranto (whose column we should all read every afternoon, and also stop calling him Shirley) would classify both of these as "Bottom Stories of the Day".

I am reminded of the line in the fine film Revenge of the Creature by inexplicably non-Ricochet contributor Mike Nelson: "other places where the Creature has not been spotted include Bar Harbour, Maine, Hopkins, Minnesota, the Quad Cities..."

Indeed. But the bit about Mike Bloomberg was at the top of my RSS reader, and I found it so inane and trivial that it caused me to laugh out loud. So naturally, I had to write about it.

As a gesture of bipartisanship, when Jerry Brown gets young enough to run, I'll vote for him.

Alas, his Bottom Story of the Day was "Anderson Cooper's Ratings Still Tanking". Felt sure these would have made it.

He files under Too Much Information "Hooker Shows Why Aussies Love Games".

He's featured more than one Ricochet headline, as I'm sure you're aware.

Via highly placed sources inside the Lonely Mountain, Anderson Cooper 360 reports: "Kucinich! Kucinich is coming!"

Bloomberg is holding out for the Intake and Diet Czar appointment in some future regime.

I think Bloomberg would rather be an actual Czar. Maybe run a pogrom or two against McDonalds and The Cheesecake Factory.

Anyway, building a mosque at Ground Zero is an issue of freedom, but your dessert order requires government intervention?
