Thanks to those who joined us for tonight's live chat coverage of the GOP debate in New Hampshire. How do you think the candidates performed?
I'll still be sleeping during tomorrow morning's debate (it's at 6am PT!), but I'd be ever grateful for a Member Feed recap of the debate from you politicos out there.

Re: Immediate Reactions to Tonight's GOP Debate
I've had all the debates I can stand. I'm going to do something fun like clean toilets.

Apologies to all and sundry, but I've got a babysitter and a movie. Let me know what happens…

I think the reason none of these guys will go after Mitt - in the debates, at least - is because they all want the coveted not-Romney spot and they feel it would hurt them to go negative.
They're all jockeying for number 2 and Mitt is running down the track. Not a strategist in the bunch!

I was looking forward to Newt going Yosemite Sam as Mark Steyn put it on Hugh Hewitt, but, alas, no such luck this evening, though his quote of the New York Times was vaguely amusing.

Watching the movie Adventureland (except for sneaking a peak at the member feed live chat) - great cast and a great soundtrack.

I know what you mean. I was really hoping the angry badger would show up tonight.
Hope he didn't lose big on the college basketball championship!

Re: Immediate Reactions to Tonight's GOP Debate
One possibility is that Newt has something seriously horrible up his sleeve, and he wants to wait until the debate that would hit the papers the day before the primary.
The morning debate is hosted by a newspaper that endorsed Newt, Facebook, and NBC. I'd say that that was essentially the perfect environment for a major negative attack. Not against Paul or Newt though (assuming you read Facebook as having endorsed Paul, despite serious efforts on the part of the Huntsman campaign).

Re: Immediate Reactions to Tonight's GOP Debate
We're pretty near the end of the run. This is one of the three remaining competitive debates if Mitt wins South Carolina, although after the race ceases to be competitive there will still be debates held at which politicians can claim to be genuine candidates; entertainingly (to me) Ron Paul would almost certainly be in second place, at least until Super Tuesday. If Mitt loses in South Carolina, there's a white debate and a Hispanic debate (interestingly, not Cuban) in Florida. The Florida debates should be improved by having Huntsman and one other ABR drop out, reducing the field to three plus Paul.
After that, Nevada, Maine, Colorado, and Minnesota take place without debates, then Michigan/ Arizona gets one, which should be yet further improved; ideally, Mitt, Not-Mitt, and Paul. Plus, it'll have been a month since the last, so you should feel a little refreshed. Super Tuesday gets two three way debates (unless one loser is really tenacious; maybe Newt stays for Georgia?). March 19 ends them, unless there is a serious contest.

Will we have a Live Chat for today's (January 8th) morning debate?
Due to the timezone difference over here, this is the first debate I'd actually be able to participate in a Chat for, and watch live.
