If Obama Were A Car, What Car Would He Be?
Some firm that does focus groups ran them with independent voters who voted for President Obama in 2008 but are undecided in 2012. The voters were asked to describe Obama as if he were a car. The results are somewhat interesting. Some voters described President Obama favorably -- as a Ford Taurus or a Toyota Minivan. Others weren't so kind.
There's "The Dale":
It was supposed to come out in the 1970s. It was a woman who -- it's a great story if you've never heard of it -- she gave us this car, the Dale, which was supposed to end the gas crisis. It was supposed to be for the masses, kind of like the Volkswagen -- user-friendly. It was this really kind of cool, sleek-looking car. And then, the thing never ran, it was a false bill of goods. It looked good on paper, but when it came to delivering, it was worse than it even came out to be.
Hybrid SUV:
Trying to be all things to all people and being unsuccessful at all of it.
Broken Down Junker:
There's no hope of repair, no hope of salvage, it's just gone.
Ouch.

The Dale. Not as disappointing as The Dale, Jr.

If Obama were a car, what car would he be ?
I'd go with one of those replica Ferraris which were made a few years ago, with a plastic body on a Pontiac Fiero chassis.
Looks like a swanky Ferrari, at least from a distance, but underneath it's just a worn out old Pontiac !

Obviously the Chevy Volt - expensive, taxpayer-funded, and the battery explodes in a collision.
But the tires do have sharp creases.

Compared to a Trabant, the Yugo was a BMW. Obama is a Trabant to me.

Most Americans haven't seen one, but the comparison is apt. I happened to spot one on the street in Budapest and pointed it out. It immediately got a crowd of picture takers around it. It's reputation was well deserved.

A Delorean: Flashy on the outside - unimpressive on the inside - utterly insecure - expensive to maintain - development full of faulty cost analysis - eventually a horrendous flop.

This is an easy one.
He's a Nova.
Why?
Because he loves minorities and in Spanish, "nova" means, "it doesn't go."

A Volvo station wagon. Overpriced, overrated, unreliable, and the choice of academic snobs.
