Since I couldn't think of a post to taint with this picture and I love it so much, I thought I'd just post it and give an award to the first member that can correctly i.d. the 1. Character, 2. His real name 3. The location of the picture.
Hint: Picture was taken in Orange County, CA.

1. "Seymour" - hosted (along with his alter ego "Banjo Billy") "Fright Night" on KHJ-9 and later "Monster Rally" on KTLA in the late 60's/early 70's
2. Larry Vincent
3. Calico Ghost Town at Knotts Berry Farm
A wildly popular fellow in his day - I remember waiting in a line around the block at the Crest Theater in San Bernardino to see one of his live gigs - have an autographed poster of him with his trademark "Bad Evening" salutation somewhere in my garage...

Given the specificity of your answer, I'd be shocked if you didn't win this. Joe, what's the award? An autographed CD of the Vandals' greatest hits?

Sleep claimed me before I got a much-needed confirmation email. tortillapete got it. Also known as "Sinister Seymour". Born Jerry Vance.

I Remember Seymour - only because I visited L.A. in late '72 and saw his show one night. Did he not Preceed Elvira and MST 3K?
What will always stand out to me was his absolute wit. The way he'd step in and make a comment when things were getting particularly melodramatic.
I was also amused with his closing coments, "Next Week, by popular demand... Mine!"
Interesting I'd recognize him after seeing him only Once!

Tortillapete is the winner. No one wins a contest like a Ricochet member. No one. Well done. Virtual award to follow. I also waited in lines to get his autograph at one of his live gigs.
He was the grand marshall of the Los Alamitos Parade in my home town once. Our city fathers had my respect early on.
Local monster movie hosts, uniquely American, something to be proud of, right?
Here's a rare taste of Seymour's talents:

Hooray! First the Giants win the Series and now this! Thanks for the kind words Joe - and for the youtube link - I had forgotten entirely about Herkimer Eugenski, and just reading that name caused the "Slimy Wall" to pop into my mind.

I'll jump in late to say I could have won this if I'd looked earlier. I loved Seymour growing up. He'd interrupt cheesy horror movies with the silliest comments. And I loved the Knotts Ghost Town, which no longer exists. (Of course I wasn't allowed to go to Knotts as a young child because old man Knotts was a known anti-semite. A common Jewish boycott at the time.)
When I was ten my mom, brother and I were watching some black and white horror movie (or maybe it was just our set) and there was some strange scene where a guy was preparing his fish dinner for himself and his beloved cat, when he heard some meowing inside one of the walls. He took a big carving knife and sliced open the drywall, stabbing and killing the cat. As the devastated freak carried the cat and protruding knife to the table, Seymour jumped in and said, "At least there's more fish for him now." My mom and big bro howled. I broke into tears and ran from the room, obviously shattered because I remember it to this day.

Down San Diego way we had "Moona Lisa."

tortillapete, Joe got you. There you were cruising the Main Feed and bam! I know that! I know that! Where's my credit card?
Welcome aboard. Look forward to hearing from you here and on the Member Feed.
(Good work, Joe)
Re: I've commissioned myself to hand out the Virtual Ricochet Genius Club Medal Of Fine Achievement.
The Ghost Town is still there at Knott's but the actual attraction where the photo was taken is gone, sadly. Big mistake. Now an annual pass costs $59.00. Down the street at Disneyland it's $400.00, not that they don't make mistakes or have anti-semites, but I'd just like to see the Haunted Shack back in it's slanted glory.
Re: I've commissioned myself to hand out the Virtual Ricochet Genius Club Medal Of Fine Achievement.
On behalf of Ricochet, I hereby bestow this Medal Of Fine Achievement to you, Tortilla Pete. Congratulations.

Sweet...thank you Joe, and Ricochet, and AMEX, and last but not least my son's Pony League coach (for scheduling an 8:00 a.m. Saturday practice that ensured I would beat all the other 50ish SoCal natives to the punch).
