In the Ukrainian parliament yesterday, there was a fight over the use of the Russian language.  And when I say "fight," I mean fight:

If only they had fought like this over here when Obamacare was enacted.

(I'm only 70% kidding about that, by the way....)

A foretaste of the US Congress, when Mr Obama is free, after his re-election, to implement Vladimir's policy of speaking Russian in the US - the reset will be complete.

Sigh. I lived in Ukraine for over a year. The language issue is an almost irreconciable one.

One could only hope. Might improve the Congressional approval rating.

A picture of fat, gray, old men in wrestler's leotards and silly masks just came to mind.  Arrrrgh!

I stopped watching Congress after the first 70 seasons.  They kind of jumped the shark in season 71, and it's just all been implausible plot lines since then.

My money's on Allen West with a KO in the 1st. Democrat opponent(s) irrelevant. Just think what it'd do for C-SPAN's ratings!

I can't help it.  While watching the video, I had to yell out, "Fight!  Fight!  Fight!"

New Jersey's Congressional Delegation has an advantage in the Congressional Battle Royale with former NFL lineman, Congressman Jon Runyan:

I can't help chuckling every time I see a mention of Jon Runyan in Congress. For years he was feared across the NFL as the plain ol' meanest offensive lineman in the league.

During his first campaign there were a lot of dirty tricks--the Dems ran a phony "tea party" candidate against him, there were some other shenanigans--and then there was a break-in at his campaign office. That got the attention of the Philadelphia TV stations: "what are the south Jersey Democrats thinking?" asked the sports reporters, showing a video montage of Runyan clobbering people left, right, and center. "Do you really want to tick this guy off?"

The whole thing blew up--the papers really went to town on the phony "tea party" candidate, whose expenses were being paid by the Democratic party.

But I loved the film clips. Tick Jon Runyan off, and I'd pick him to win a fight against the entire House simultaneously--including Allen West.

The Koreans are great at this too:

Maybe in order to submit a bill, a congressman should have to run a gauntlet comprised of the other congressman armed with clubs. If he/she makes it through, then maybe the bill has merit.

It's about time that policy differences with the sissy party were settled gladiator style.  I really like the odds for our side to win at least all of these kinds of negotiations.  Gladiator democracy, a fountainhead for constitutional government.

This seems to be a phenomenon Of younger legislative bodies. As pointed out above they do this in SK.We used to do this in the US, Sen. Charles Sumner was nearly beaten to death on the floor of the Senate, so to stop actual violence they established rules forbidding direct insults and stuff, so it cut down on violent fights.
