This made my day in so many ways.

I was just about to post this! I think it's fascinating. And it is an interesting ad strategy that must have been the result of much market testing -- so I'm glad that consumers still care about "the American way."

I have heard people in Texas say this, and have said it myself, since the bailouts began. Ford's marketing teams didn't invent this appeal.

Your post reminds me of the ironically named People for the American Way. I guess there's more than one American way. In any case, bravo Ford for following the real American way.

My late father was a Ford dealer.  He would be proud.

Well, I run a committed Toyota family (all 3 vehicles, btw, were made in the USA), but this is great.  I still believe that "too big to fail" might yet fail, so I'm not going to buy GM or Chrysler any time soon.

This can only mean one thing - that Ford, like the GOP, has been taken over the anti-government tea-bagger types, and that they want people who have no health insurance to die.

Its interesting on another level, these ads are focus tested - that research is clearly indicating that this message resonates with Americans.

If it can sell cars & trucks, it can 'sell' entitlement reform, elimination of loopholes & subsidies, political parties & candidates.

Thanks for posting. Hadn't seen this ad yet here in KC although we have both a Ford and GM plant.  On another note...our local UAW (Ford Workers) vote to strike recently depending on the outcome of contract negotiations. They feel that since Frod has increased their revenues in the last 18 months or so, it's time for them to get back the concessions they made recently.

As Aaron points out a lot of people have made these remarks since the bail-outs.  What is interesting to me is why Ford now feels safe to make those remarks in a commercial.  Is this another sign of the weakness of the Obama administration?  Would Ford have suffered some retribution for this message two years ago?

Now if we can just get them to start making Broncos again. Go Ford !!

Those Toyota products are darned hard to beat, but the turning radius on a Bronco is awesome. I think the F-150 should join the Model A and Model T in the Hall of Fame.

GM ? Chrysler owned by Fiat ? Ha ha ha. Let's not forget what they did to two hundred years of contract law here.

My brother and me have been lately noodling with buying moms a new Fiesta. Now. after seeing this, I'm half-ready to give her mine (only 60K) and buy myself a new Fusion, flaming blue with black guts, of course.

My son-in-law got me to sit through these videos promoting Ford's Ecoboost technology; they are actually pretty interesting:

Definitely indicative of a tipping point. There's a radio ad here for windows where  some guy mocks "that Obama money". Times they are a changin'.

And I got an F-150 after years of Chevy 1500's for just the reason as that guy in the commercial. There's got to be plenty of us.

The man in the commercial talks more about his views in a homemade video that he posted to YouTube.
