Competing with a known known.
We usually call him President Obama.
President.
Barack.
Obama.
If he can't get you to roll the dice on Romney... well I doubt there is anything anyone here, there, or anywhere can say.

Re: How You Go to War
Dan McLaughlin is hardly a Romney apologist. He backed Perry. His point here simply reflects reality: Romney is going to be the point man in our fight against Obama this election year. Our decision, then, is only whether to join in the fight or sit on our hands.

Leporello- I understand that. But it's unfortunate that Mr Bland may get the spot. I think James Delingpole said of Romney that'd turn out to be like David Cameron in the UK. Hopeless. Newtzilla, for all his faults, is at this time the way to go.. No more learning on the job.

Hmm.
If you are smart, you begin hostilities with the Anthony Kennedy you have.

Re: How You Go to War
I am with you and Mr. McLaughlin, Brother Rob.
We have got Mr. Romney. Now, we need to ensure that he wins and that he is backed up and under girded by a rock-ribbed, "unmoderate" Republican Congress, led by fresh faces who are NOT ambitious to live out their days in the hothouse of Washington politics.

Re: How You Go to War
When Romney has the delegates he needs to be the GOP nominee he will get my unwavering support. Until then, he hasn't earned it, he ain't gettin' it.

Re: How You Go to War
No battle plan survives contact withi the enemy. As politically attuned conservatives, we planned on going into battle with .... Paul Ryan, Mitch Daniels, .... name your favorite poltroon. But contact with the "enemy" -- the fact that running for President is a tough job and not for the faint of heart (or weak of will) -- has left us with the reality that not all who spout conservative platitudes are prepared to respond to the sound of the trumpet. I agree with Gus. When Romney has earned the nomination he'll have my full support. Until then......

M1919A4- Spot on the money. When he gets it then he gets backed 100%..
The mitts are off or in his case gloves.. Mr Bland boxes his way out of paper bag.. A man with no seasoning.. Hence, Mr Bland builds his White House..

Re: How You Go to War
The disaster at the top of the ticket is all the more reason to pitch in and do what you can in those congressional and local races. If this gilt-guilt country club liberal is going to try the kind of...stuff...nationally that he pulled in Massachusetts there needs to be a conservative 113th Congress barring the way.

I will end up supporting Obama's opposition regardless, I just don't think that I can sit idly by after Jan 20th even if the winner is Mitt. We have a congress that seems willing to concede more war powers to the sociopath we have in now. There are much greater things going on than just Obama.

I agree wholeheartedly. Beating Barry is the socio-political equivalent of applying a tourniquet.

Re: How You Go to War
Not only do we go to war with the candidate we have, but we do so without moaning and groaning and woe-is-us-ing. Let's have at it, and quit the endless complaining: it is now pointless and unproductive, even destructive.

Re: How You Go to War
I am with you here Scott. The issue isn't whether we are happy with the Republican nominee, but whether we are enthusiastic about him.
I am very enthusiastic - what can I do to help?
