Pretty simple set up: Drudge, Ricochet, left-over Halloween candy, a cigar, and Marker's Mark.

Should the night turn out well, I might be persuaded to upgrade the Maker's.

Having some American buddies over, and I've heard so much about Maker's Mark on the podcasts that I picked up a bottle!  I am terrified, I only get CNN here, they're really bearish on Romney's chances so far......

Rob, I set up a second TV in our living room.  One TV on Fox, the other TV connected to my laptop which is running Drudge/Ricochet/My County Page.  I've got steaks percolating, cigar and scotch standing by.  Boy do I ever hope they are for celebration rather than consolation.

And should the night turn out to be disappointing, that will be a double upgrade on the Maker's! Here's to a Romney victory and a return to (I hope) responsible governance.

Upgrade? I don't understand. Do you mean you will drink more  Maker's Mark or turn to something better? Is there something better? Inquiring minds want to know.

Better? Maker's is good, but Booker's blows its doors off.

In case of a Romney victory, I'll break out a Pappy van Winkle 25 year old bourbon.

Had a nice steak dinner out (with some fabulous pumpkin streusel cheesecake) with the hubby. Decided to forgo a GOP county victory party and am now curled up on the couch with the TV on and the laptop nearby. Getting ready to read, "A Nation of Deadbeats" for my book club meeting tomorrow night.

So far a good evening...just hope it continues.

I remember sitting on NRO in the 2004 elex and wigging out on the exit polls then, too. Now, I have Ricochet and, as summer is having one last gasp here in Sta Clara County, I am having the season's final Moscow Mules and will retire to the LiveChat. I am glad Ricochet is here. I am also glad this elex is over, regardless of result. I am ready to return to not reading MSmedia for awhile, it just gets worse and worse. Thank you again to Rob, Peter & Team for making Ricochet a great part of my life this elex season! Onward we go.

I was thinking of an 18 year old Elija Craig---but I'm sure that old rip van winkle stuff is okay too.

Funny, but Rob sent me a similar photo on the evening of November 4, 2008.  A tightly-knit cell of right-wing conspirators was then planning the debut of this little website called Ricochet, and incidentally consoling one another via email on the coming fundamental transformation of the United States of America.

Rob's caption:  "Was on the rocks, but they melted.  Like Florida."

Fingers crossed that we can upgrade Rob to champagne later this evening or, if necessary, at breakfast tomorrow morning.

What kills the bottle, Rob? A Romney win or a Romney loss?

Funny how all thoughts turn to whiskey (mostly bourbon) on election night.  I seem to recall Judge Bork preferring the dry martini (gin, of course).

I'm in perfect equipoise at the moment, but I must choose sooner  or later.
