With all of the talk these last few months of Charles Murray and his book (I'm a 45 by the way), I thought of a different experiment.

How much of the US have you actually seen?  How many states have you visited (exluding layovers).  I'm talking about states where you at least spent an overnight.  I'll toss in Canadian provinces too for fun.

My sister has been to all 50, my wife just a few.

So, where do you go?  How much of America have you really seen?

42 states.  And I've been to most of the Canadian provinces also.

So basically just the regions I've lived at, went to school at, and did internships at. I need to travel more.

Sorry I'm late to the party.  I've been moving.  Literally,...I moved into a brand new 2012 Freightliner Cascadia today.  Since I pretty much live in a truck, moving takes the better part of a full day.   So!  Where were we...  yes,...states I've visited.

states I have visited

I won't list the countries,...since some deployments had me going to places that I was never in,...or something like that.   Time to keep arranging the new digs...

What happened to S. Dakota?  Surely it can't be too far away.

Happy trails.

Let's see 24 states, 9 countries, compared to some of the rest of you I feel like a country bumpkin.

Woohoo!  Congratulations.  I just googled "Freightliner Cascadia" and the outside looks pretty slick.  So, how much horsepower?

I dunno yet,.but I'll tell, the inside is just wonderful.  Seems more spacious than the previous truck.  I think the pushed the width to the limit.  Very roomy,...very tastefully designed.   Yep,..I'm officially spoiled.

It's the only state I haven't seen, for some reason.  Eight years in trucking,..and I've yet to go through South Dakota.  One day, though,...one day...

Honestly though, if I had to spend the rest of my days here in the Texas Hill Country I'd be pretty happy. ·  2 hours ago

Texas Hill Country looks pretty, for sure, but I'll content myself with the wineries of Dry Creek.

California's politics are, well, abominable, but the grapes are good.

I can't get my map to appear in the comment, but I've been to 27 states and two Canadian provinces.  I've always wanted to get to the Carolinas but haven't made it yet.

I've been everywhere, man (well, except AK and HI).  And no airport BS, I've personally driven through all of the lower 48 - at least 1/3 of them just because they're there.

Wow, I've been to a state that Dave Carter hasn't trucked through? Crazy. Not ever a quick detour to Rushmore?

Also, how do you get a big rig to Hawaii?

All of the lower 48 but never made it to HI or AK.  A resident of 9 states: OH, MT, NC, TN, OK, TX, IL, CA, & SC.

Spent time in 5 Canadian Provinces and 32 countries outside of North America.  Favorite places outside the US are Spain, Argentina, and Uruguay.

I've also briefly been through Arizona, Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Georgia, Maryland, Mississippi, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Texas, Utah, West Virginia, and Washington, DC.  I've probably been to Arkansas about 50 times, but I guess I've never spent the night there.
