Hope You Have a Merry Little Christmas

I feel so blessed to have been invited to be part of this wonderful site this year. To be put to the test every time I opened my laptop. Our family is spending a bittersweet Christmas with my mother-in-law - probably her last - who is in ill health and suffering from alzheimers. A woman I held so dear I baptized my Jewish daughter so she would not fret for her soul. Beinng thoroughly Jewish I fret a LOT, but certainly not for her soul. Besides I'm pretty darn thankful for the birth of Christianity these days.
Anyway, here's to a happy, peaceful New Year to all my dear Ricos.
Denise

Been through that. In our case she held on just through the season and then was off and gone. Best of luck.

That is such a cruel disease, and you obviously are a wonderful daughter-in-law. I hope that your whole family experiences the joy of the season and the final time together. And, for your sake, I hope that your fretting is about things that you can affect and not about things that you cannot.

We're praying for your mother-in-law and your family.
My family just celebrated our last Christmas with Aged Relative last night. (At least, it's wildly improbable that it's not Aged Relative's last Christmas.) As Sisyphus points out, your family is not alone in these trials.
A happy and peaceful New Year to you, too.

And here I thought Moss must be Hollywood for Mossberg or Moscowitz...
On a more serious note Denise, your voice on this site is one I am really grateful for, You're funny and grounded and insightful and I love reading about your terrific daughter and her (I'm sure) excellent but equally nutty school.
Best wishes to you and your family in the difficult transition you are going through.
