Hope Inextinguishable

Is what Ümit Sönmez’s name means in Turkish. And true to his persistent moniker, his group, the İHH (about which Claire has written) claims that they’re going to stage another, larger provocation of Israel Mavi Marmara-style. They’re scheduling it for May 31, presumably so the cameras will have nice weather to shoot in. So, Israel has got half a year to figure out how to deal with it this time. Knowing the reputation of the Mossad, one would not be surprised to find a number of insuperable obstacles arising in the interim… But we’ll see, and Claire’s notebook shall run over…

Re: Hope Inextinguishable
Looking for what he actually said in Turkish, but curious to see that the way it's been translated suggests that he used the word raid to describe the last event, as opposed to "peaceful humanitarian mission." That's interestingly frank, if correctly translated.
There is, by the way, no good Turkish translation of the word chutzpah, which is the word the Israeli FM used to characterize the Turkish demand that Israel apologize for being ... peacefully humanitarian-missioned.
