I'm shocked.

Allow me to start off with A Very McClane Christmas (known to some people by its lesser-known alternate title, Die Hard).

I swear that I read the headline and immediately thought of Die Hard before reading the body of the post.

White Christmas always and forever. On Strike for Christmas, but only because my mother-in-law wrote the book it is based on.

Gee whiz, is Daphne Zuniga on contract with the Lifetime network?!  ;-)

The real We're No Angels.  Bogart, Ustinov, Aldo Ray, one of the Bennett sisters, and Basil Rathbone.  So good.

I liked the story, but I think letting Drew Barrymore provide the voice for Olive was the wrong choice.

We are 8 comments in and no one has yet mentioned THE Christmas movie, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.  That movie reminds me a lot of my Christmas childhood memories and as a 50 year old father of two, I have experienced much of what Mr Griswold goes thru in the moive.  I have to watch this one at least once a year, usually while I am at the in-laws for Christmas.

The snowball fight scene is pure genius.

I agree, but Dan Castellaneta as the Christmas-hating postman, Joe Pantoliano as the penguin con-artiste, and Michael Stipe as a washed-up alcoholic reindeer MORE than make up for it.

I agree with DocJay even though he's a Raider fan.

Also agree on National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.  For my family, any house that over-does the lights is a "Griswold house."

I thought it was a good effort, but it had pacing problems. The story really seems to lag in the middle.

Bad Santa?  Sorry, but it's on my list because of John Ritter's performance as the diversity-bedeviled store manager.  As for legitimate Christmas movies, I'd also go with A Christmas Story.  And, of course, the Alastair Sim version of A Christmas Carol.

A classic scene.  And what about the lamp--sheer genius.  I don't know how old Darren McGaven was when he played the father, but his casting was perfect.
