Very impressive (and sobering) take down. Thank you for posting it.

Re: Harvard's Niall Ferguson Schools MSNBC panel on Egypt and the Muslim Brotherhood
Niall Ferguson is the real deal. I'd like to see an all Ferguson panel on Late Night with Craig Ferguson: Niall Ferguson; Andrew Ferguson; Joe Ferguson, and Ferguson Jenkins. Who wouldn't watch that?

Re: Harvard's Niall Ferguson Schools MSNBC panel on Egypt and the Muslim Brotherhood
Wow. Great clip. Scary, too.
One of the pundits touts Secretary Clinton as some major foreign policy expert, not "2nd or 3rd rate," as Ferguson asserted. Hilary Clinton is a heavyweight foreign policy player??? Based on what experience? Being First Lady for 8 years? Her major accomplishment thus far seems to have been keeping her head down and not making any gaffes like bowing to foreign leaders.

My opinion of Harvard just went up.

Many of Niall Ferguson's books are on my mental "later" list. I may need to move them higher.

On the most recent Ricochet podcast, Mike Murphy said about Egypt, "I actually think the Obama guys did a pretty good job on this" No wonder he has a gig on Meet the Press.

He is so impressive.
Bonus: He's really, really handsome and still has his Glaswegian accent. What's not to love?

Re: Harvard's Niall Ferguson Schools MSNBC panel on Egypt and the Muslim Brotherhood
The reporterette keeps wanting to make it sound like Obama had something to do with the outcome. "Well, it worked, didn't it?"

Re: Harvard's Niall Ferguson Schools MSNBC panel on Egypt and the Muslim Brotherhood
The "reporter" is Mika Brzezinski. She's an odd combination --- as dumb as a stump, yet incredibly haughty. The show is unwatchable because she tosses out the most simplistic and shallow comments all the time, but delivers them with astounding certaintly.
Several months ago she & her panel were mocking Sarah Palin for referring to our founding fathers in a speech & joked that she probably didn't know who the founding fathers were. Panelists started naming Washington, Jefferson, etc. Mika chimed in with "Lincoln" and the discussion abruptly ended. I saw this with my own eyes, and am still amazed that the woman retains her co-host duties on Morning Joe. (Not that he's a rocket scientist, either, but he towers over her.)

Nup, that's not a Glaswegian accent. If he still had that we wouldn't be able to understand a thing he said. Which would be a great pity.

Really? Sounds like a toned-down Glaswegian accent to me. Where is he from?

That was awesome.

Re: Harvard's Niall Ferguson Schools MSNBC panel on Egypt and the Muslim Brotherhood
Oh, he's from Glasgow. I'm just saying he's smoothed off the rough edges very, very well. Check out some of the recordings at http://web.ku.edu/~idea/europe/scotland/scotland.htm for a less prettied-up accent. And even those are very comprehensible compared to some speakers I heard in 1966.

This was the best schooling of preening progressives since Daniel Hannan dressed- down Gordon Brown two years ago.
I suppose Mark Halperin, co-author of "Game Change," thinks Hillary Clinton is a great foreign policy hand because she's attended all the required meetings and conferences.
And she had really high SATs.

My 16 yr old watched this with me and, upon completion remarked "How come we can't have people that well spoken here in the states? I mean this guy and Daniel Hannan? Seriously!" He's right, of course!

Re: Harvard's Niall Ferguson Schools MSNBC panel on Egypt and the Muslim Brotherhood
Hugh Hewitt called Ferguson a "lefty" yesterday. I decided I can't listen to Hewitt anymore. He really will say anything to advance what he deems to be the correct political strategy for the GOP. He's totally shameless. Ferguson is far from a "lefty". His writing and tv work are highly worthwhile. The Ascent of Money series was one of the most brilliant things I've seen on PBS in ages.
