Did you ever wonder how much of a fool you have to be in order to land a top administrative job at Harvard? Now you know: On Wednesday, Harvard University granted official recognition to a new S&M sex club. Each week, about 20 students participate, and they will now be eligible for university funding and use of Harvard property for promotional purposes.

I'm sure the irony of seeking administrative approval for a subversive sex club is entirely lost on the Harvard students involved.

Reportedly, students will explore things such as "fantasies of rape, forced feeding, and impersonating animals during sex..."

Let's see: Ivy League. Sadomasochism. Fantasy rape. Furry role play... Somebody should write a book if this kind of thing catches on and becomes a trend.

Can anyone think of a good title for a Sex & God at Yale Harvard knock-off? How about 50 Shades of Harvard?

What will their club photo in the yearbook look like?

Sorry.

My local community college had a celebration of cross-dressing event recently, sponsored by their 'Open Door Club.'   I heard a radio interview with the columnist who reported on it (he was revolted) and he said he had to clean up his report considerably to have it run in the paper.  It sounded like a fairly, um, progressive show for our little suburban area, although according to the writer, the attending audience, which included at least one child, was loudly approving.  There were several comments by adults below the online article that stridently praised the young people for their display.  I  just wonder how many of the performers, encouraged by these adults to be proud of their exhibitionism, put photos & videos of themselves on their Facebook & Twitter pages.  And whether the college realized that by holding this public event, they helped create a record of these young people that could just possibly be accessed by the human resources departments of companies the grads may be applying to for jobs in the future.

Scott Reusser: "Forced feeding" ????

That's a turn on? For the feeder or the feedee? Why exactly?

Either way, I bet the fed's liver tastes great.

I was mulling that over as well.

Harvard is certainly not the only institute of higher education where such is occurring, how would a modern version of Buckeley's expose read? How tame his cautious work detailing collectivist/communist trends in university appears now. At one time it was actually controversial! Imagine such an age.

You think this is bad? You should see how they teach politics and economics.

The odd thing is that if a person would commit self flagellation for religious reasons these people would consider it odd and the person doing it in need of help. But if these people do the same thing for the purpose of getting off they would want to film it and start a club.

Having seen some Harvard co-eds, I'm only surprised that it took this long.

They are probably preparing for careers in "public service."

Some things are supposed to be private.  I don't care if people form these sorts of groups, so long as they don't advertise that fact in such a public manner.  Come on, people.

Yes, we need to run a candidate who doesn't speak about social issues -- perhaps even was pro-choice in the past -- but who will focus on the economy.

We need to run... Mitt Romney!

If memory serves, all official clubs at Harvard have the right to use the official Harvard logo on t-shirts and other products.  That could be interesting.

It would be interesting to compare the words of Harvard's original charter with whatever by-laws or other formative statement had to be submitted for this "club's" recognition.  The lunatics have truly taken over the asylum....

That is too awesome for words.
