If we're serious about shifting momentum in the culture/vision wars, then raising Gutfeld's profile would be a wise place to start. He's the closest thing to Jon Stewart in the corporate news media's "right wing." A lot funner too, in my judgment.

Satire is an underrated tool of political persuasion. The Right must use it. An "army of Davids" is not sufficient.  Lacking a counterpart to Comedy Central, Fox News is the only viable avenue for conservative satire. The Five airs too early in the day; Red Eye too late at night. But repositioning one of those shows to a 11 pm EST time slot would expose high school and college students to right-of-center discourse for the first time.  This is the crucial demographic if we want conservatism and classical liberalism to survive as a political movement in this country. (Assuming they didn't die years ago and we failed to notice.)

Gutfeld is genuinely funny; we can mostly agree on that.  But what about his command of ideas or his ability to mount and sustain an argument? Stewart is shallow. We need a comedian who can also make the case for conservatism.

Amen Troy!   Wonder if in a couple of years,  Susan Rice will denounce the  Obama Administration because she was forced to say these things to the world, knowing they weren't true?   Me neither.

The reporters there missed so many followup questions that it is infuriating.  "Based on intelligence she received?"  Who briefed her?  How "involved" were they?  When was this information imparted?  Did the President hear the briefing?  Was he aware of the briefing and the information imparted?  Did he watch her on the news shows and realize that she was insufficiently in the loop?  What actions were taken to correct the "misapprehension" that she was operating under?

Obama said that "as soon as he heard" he gave the order to protect "his" people.  When was that, exactly?  What specifically was the order?  To whom was it given?  What action was taken?

Surely, the President's own actions shouldn't require much in the way of investigation.  It's been two months now.

Gutfield is far funnier than Jon Stewart, in a totally different way.  I enjoy the Daily Show, parts are very amusing, but Stewart is 100% predictable with a series of strung together schticks---heavily selectively edited clips, followed by cartoonish muggings for the camera, punctuated by Seinfield-ish outrage/despair/whatever.  That's all it is, over and over.  He does have excellent writers, a slew of them.

Gutfield delivers crafted monologues that he seems to have written himself, relying very little on anything else but his own presentation.

Oh hoo...would Obama offer as much protection to a male ambassador as he does to a female ambassador. Love this. Keep going.I get so tired of men saying that women are equal, letting them on the playing field but then applying different rules and being nice. Do men realize that they are just losing a job? Do males realize that the women would not return the favour?

You want to play, then play! Susan Rice, this means you.

Gutfeld is razor-sharp and smart.  He almost throws away that last line in this bit, which is a stinging payoff.

Jon Stewart enjoys his own jokes way too much.  Lightweight.

The left is Borderline. Life of Julia, Defending for Susan Rice as if she is some weak kitten  - women should be offended by how spineless they  portray us. Yet Obama is seen as the Commander in Chief with the War on Women?

Why isn't Greg on Ricochet?

Rob has been on Red Eye, so he must have contacts with Greg's people.  Greg is hawking a new book, can't you get him on as a guest contributor to promote it?  If he comes on I'll buy a copy!

(I'll probably buy it anyway, but don't tell him that.)

Gutfeld was a podcast guest once or twice, very early on.

I knew *nothing* of Gutfeld before I bought his new book on Kindle. He's um, a little more vulgar than my typical read. Yeah, OK--a lot more vulgar than my typical read. But I'm not too priggish to admit that The Joy of Hate is absolutely hilarious...and very, very smart.

I dug the video, but, Greg, that was The Stones and not J Geils playing in the bump.
