My idea of the best November ever: Giants win the World Series, GOP takes House and Senate.

One down, two to go.

At least neither the 49ers nor the Vikings are about to win anything in football....

At least it won't be a harbinger of the election tomorrow.

If You were truly Conservative, You'd have wanted the Rangers to win.

That Eli Manning is pretty darn good. But I thought the big deal sporting events took place in January and March. Oh well.

Well, two down, anyway. As Winston Wolf would say, let's not polish each other's surfboards just yet, but if the bookies are already paying out, the House is a lock.

Haven't checked Dubya's page yet.

I don't see the Senate going our way. Moving our way, sure. But I'm quite willing to be surprised. If Christine O'Donnell wins, I will personally wear a ladybug costume and try to sneak a snog.

Great series and I'm so happy a National League team won!

The City of San Francisco has had a very good night tonight. I sincerely wish that it has a very bad day tomorrow - politically, of course.

San Franciscans politicize everything, and I did hear some comments about "sticking it to a red state" in the series, and one about "that blankety-blank Bush sitting in the front row - we showed him!"

But the best was a drunken Giants fan high-fiving me and screaming, "This is even better than Burning Man!" That sort of sums it all up.

It looked to me that the Giants' Cody Ross went out of his way to shake GW Bush's hand on Sunday night. These guys are a bunch of characters, and not really in the conformist San Francisco manner.

Personally, I love their scrappiness and eccentricities, and think they deserve tons of credit. The politics of their city shouldn't be held against them -- and it wouldn't surprise me if most are Republicans.

I had no dog in the fight and as a Cardinal fan I have precious little love for the Giants, but I've got to say congratulations to Edgar Renteria on his MVP nod. Renteria was a Card earlier in the decade and went about his business with the same quiet dignity you saw last night as he accepted the MVP trophy.

Why stop there? Two years from now, the Giants complete a three-peat and Obama is turned into a private citizen again (so he can write three more autobiographies) with a Republican victory for the presidency. That's change I can believe in.
