The.A.List.Dallas

Taylor Garrett is a member of the gay reality TV show "A-List Dallas."  After leaving a party he found a vandal scratching "[expletive] Coulter" on the side of his car.  After Garrett discovered him, the vandal stood up and decked Taylor in his left eye.

As the Daily Caller reports,

Garrett, who has done work with groups run by former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, says he has been subject to harassment and threats for being a gay conservative since news broke that he was having lunch with Coulter in Los Angeles for his show.

One of my former students, who is a conservative lesbian, worked at the Log Cabin Republicans headquarters in Washington, D.C.  She told me that there are two groups that might naturally oppose the Log Cabin Republicans: (i) liberal homosexuals who are angry because they are Republican, and (ii) conservative heterosexuals who are angry because they are homosexual.  She said that the hate mail and hate phone calls from the liberal group vastly outnumbered those from the conservative group.

I suppose it shows the strength of their ideology relative to the weakness of our bigotry. Too bad we don't own the narrative.

Leftists want everyone to love and support them, by force of law if by no other means--heavy heavy force of law. That just doesn't work. Most conservatives want to be left alone to make their own way in the world. You can love them or you can hate them, they don't much care. They--especially the Tea Party types--just want the freedom to win or lose on their own. I'd contend that gay people would find much greater success on the latter path. Government "help" is usually the help to become more of a slave to government.

Though they pay lip-service to peace and love and equality and diversity an' all that, the only thing the left really values is loyalty to the tribe. If you view it all through the lens of tribalism, all the hypocritical actions of the left make perfect sense.

I have always said this about being black in a liberal world but it is clear it applies to many other groups as well. What I mean is, I can choose to support whatever policy I want, I am free.  But if I was black and wanted to vote for, let's say, Gingrich there are people white and black that feel they can openly demonize, smear, and even physically abuse because of some sense of betrayal to their ideology.  Being white I am not burdened with these people.  That is why I really admire those black people that openly stand up  for their rights as Americans even when it means being socially ostracized or worse.  And I guess this applies to gays as well now.

Today, a student of recent Mexican heritage shared with me the vitriol that another student, of blue-blooded Mayflower ancestry, heaped upon her for daring not to be a Democrat.  I encouraged her to challenge this thug on his attempt to coerce her with appeals to group identity.  I teach at a private school in an economically elite area of town.  The real bigotry that this brave young woman faces is not from a society which gives her the opportunity to attend a private school, but from the liberal white students who believe that their noblesse oblige demands a certain deference.  Progressive bullies are alive and well.

It really is like the worst stories of religious bigots, isn't it? Even caricatures of religious bigots have their limits in stories -- the left seems to have no limits. They haven't bought into basic democratic ideas or impulses really. It's essentially lowlife stuff and low brow thinking. This is why these people when they get in control of the inner cities or whole countries create a cesspool for everyone but themselves to swim in.

Why should we be surprised that Communists kill so many people. They have no respect for the views of anyone else. The leftist systems seem to promote the most evil man in the room to lead them -- in every single case in history.

Obama's world of the inner cities illness is a microcosm of what they want to do with the rest of the country. It's a scandal and an indictment of America that we have two systems: traditional America and little Communist pockets of sepsis -- or what should be called plantations. Think how many people from the northern states were sickened by what they saw in the south before the civil war. It was a scandal.

Identity politics is such a huge part of the left's ideology. The message is that your identity, whether it be your race, your gender, or your sexual orientation, defines who you are as a person. The left spreads the message that being a "good" or "real" member of the group requires that you adhere to leftist politics. If you don't agree with them you are stripped of your identity
