Fresh Hinderaker-Ward Experience
The Hinderaker-Ward Experience (HWX) returns to Ricochet after a rare and well-deserved break to bring you THE FINEST in conservative podcast commentary. That is, as long as you’re excluding the Ricochet Podcast, Radio Free Delingpole, Law Talk with Epstein and Yoo, Left Coast/Right Coast, the Young Guns, Dave Carter’s View from the Cab, and Mr. Sudsy’s Beer Bong Challenge (coming soon!). That still makes HWX top 10 podcasting and you can’t argue with that.
John Hinderaker (Powerline) and Brian Ward (FratersLibertas.com) break down the news from chilly Minnesota. And at times it sounds like just plain breaking down. Both gentlemen are rather glum about the current state of the GOP Presidential sweepstakes and the prospects of anyone defeating Obama. This leads to some spirited debate about the cause of the problem with this year’s primary selection process, and it all ends on a unified, positive note with some gratuitous shots at Democrats.
Later, a discussion of the ObamaCare dictates on birth control for the Catholic Church. Our position? We’re against them! This leads into a flock of Loons of Week, as Democrat members of the US Senate took to open microphones to condemn the real villain in this drama, you guessed it, right wing extremists.
Finally, we wrap things up with a double shot of This Week in Gate Keeping. First, Chris Matthews failing his geography final during a live interview with the distinguished Senator from one of the Dakotas. Then, an illustration of how your tax dollars are being used at American Public Media. Or, more accurately, how they’re not being used, for such things as fact checking and editorial discretion.
We hope you enjoy the show, and comments are most welcome.

There's a possible NPR bumper-sticker slogan floating in this...
"NPR -- We report, you fact-check."

Re: Fresh Hinderaker-Ward Experience
How does bemoaning the fact that none of the candidates live up to the Tea Party movement of 2010 square with mocking of conservatives as they try to find someone of that Tea Party spirit reflected in pre-primary polling and then settling on a desire for insiders in smoke filled rooms as preferable to people hashing it out in a public way??????

Re: Fresh Hinderaker-Ward Experience
Mitt has damaged his own electibility by allowing his SuperPacs to pick on a vengeful rival with an inflated ego (Newt). He should be willing to run on his record in government as well as in the private sector. The fact that he's doubled down on RomneyCare and that his instincts don't appear to be conservative make the base distrust him. Newt is an extremely flawed candidate, but he did try to engage Romney in debating the issues; Romney chose the good cop/bad cop routine. He attacked Rick Perry on Social Security right out of the box, potentially destroying that issue for Republicans. I voted for him in 2008 rather than McCain after Fred Thompson dropped out. I will vote for him again this time should he be our nominee, but should he prevail over Obama I have little faith that he will advance the conservative agenda. Nor do I believe he will be willing to spend political capital in the repeal of ObamaCare after running for POTUS for 6+ years.
