French Name DSK's Wife as "Woman of the Year"
Really meditate on the weirdness of this one. For her accomplishment in abject public humiliation, Anne Sinclair has been designated by France the Female Personality of 2011, beating (by quite a good margin) such competitors as Christine Lagarde, the new head of the IMF, and prominent politicians Martine Aubry (leader of the Socialist Party) and Marine Le Pen (leader of the National Front), both of whom are apt to run for the presidency in 2012.
Invited to nominate two prominent women who have proved the most impressive this year, one in four named Anne Sinclair, placing at the top of the rankings this symbol of female courage who stood by her husband in the storm. ...
Three in ten women (31%) cited Anne Sinclair as the most notable female personality of 2011. Her place in first position appears to be a tribute to the courage she has continuously shown in the tumult of the court cases damning her husband. Note that it is women aged 50 to 64 years (37%) and retirees (37%) who appear most to empathize with Anne Sinclair.
T'as parcouru un long chemin, bébé.

Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose.
Considering the great demographic shift, the selection was actually encouraging.

Such a fitting metaphor for the French point of view. Surprising it wasn't the poor housemaid who, like much of Africa, was abused in the process of making a deal with the French. Post coital colonialism

Why is there even a "female" person of the year? Sounds like French male chauvinism to me.

Didn't we come close to electing Hillary our President based on the same criteria?
