Wrapping up the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation conference in Hawaii on Sunday, President Obama held a presser at Ko Olina on the island of his birth in which he subtly ceded Hawaii to the continent of Asia.

When I meet with world leaders, what's striking -- whether it's in Europe or here in Asia -- the kinds of fundamental reforms and changes both on the revenue side and the public pension side that other countries are having to make are so much more significant than what we need to do in order to get our books in order.

As Member Nathaniel Wright, who sent me a tip to this story put it, "Obama is a punch in the face."

Hopefully this is Obama's face-saving way of backing out of the presidential race.

It's like I've always said/printed on my bumper sticker, "Obama wasn't born in America."

I am so relieved that idiot Bush is out of the White House, and we finally have a president who doesn't make our country look stupid.

This press conference also included one of the most worshipful reporters yet:

Reporter Question - Thank you, Mr. President. Last night at the Republican debate, some of the hopefuls -- they hope to get your job -- they defended the practice of waterboarding, which is a practice that you banned in 2009. Herman Cain said, "I don't see that as torture." Michelle Bachmann said that it's "very effective." So I'm wondering if you think that they're uninformed, out of touch, or irresponsible?

Thank you, Mr. President.  The economy has struggled for your entire term in office.  Millions of Americans are unemployed or struggling with crushing debt.  Your policies seem only to have made things worse.  The federal government now owes more to its creditors than the entire annual output of the American economy.  Are you economically illiterate, cold-heartedly apathetic, or diabolically malicious?

Minor slip, venal sin, or however you want to put it.  If he had said, "Asia-Pacific" rather than "Asia," nobody would have batted an eye.

Things always start out that way.

In Honolulu, one can easily get the impression that one is in a suburb of Tokyo.  Well, given the distance to Tokyo, make that an exurb.

It is one heck of a gaffe though for one who was born there.

Right.  And if I'm in Downeast Maine and say "...here in Europe..." it's just a lazy slip of the tongue.

It would never occur to my subconscious to accidentally call North America "Europe" and it would never occur to my subconscious to accidentally call my Christian faith my "Muslim" faith or my "Hindu" faith.  Just wouldn't happen...not unless there's already something related lingering in there...just sayin'...

But he didn't.

Furthermore, he prefaced it with "Europe," a continent, as is...Asia, not Asia-Pacific.

Obama is an innocent in politics, economics, and social systems, and yet he's POTUS. He's a figure of a man construed by others, Soros and the Chicago crowd that trained him, and, therefore, I can't blame him for the nonsense he spouts, although I would if it was his.

If Bush had said it, it would have led on the evening news. For a week.

I really don't think this was a slip.  This is what he really is.  He hates this country and what it stands for as Michelle does.  A long time ago I heard a speech by President Carter.  He used the phrase Arab lands to talk about Israel.  That was the first time an American President had ever used a phrase anything close.  I listened over the years to hundreds of apologists for Carter.  Many were Jewish and influential.  Finally, as Carter's true personality came out unequivocally anti-Israel even the banal apologists were forced to admit that the man was an anti-semite.

We need to be able to handle the truth.  That is the only way to generate enough moral force to end the tyranny of the left.

Eau contraire...it's EXACTLY the way many Native born Hawaiians would think.  You are getting a peek into his soul.  He was born in Hawaiian, but this man truly has no clue how Americans think.  That doesn't mean Hawaiians aren't Americans...or can't think like Americans...but certain Hawaiians don't.  One of those such people is our president.

I say this being married to a long-time Hawaiian who has been trying to tell me this ever since she read his biography and figured this out about him in the first few chapters.
