Polar bear

Four protesters who dressed up in polar bear suits, "to raise awareness of how the Iraq War was affecting global warming," are suing the Capitol Police for wrongful arrest.

According to a complaint filed in federal court, the four (who I suppose will go down in history as "The Polar Four") were participating in a larger protest called "No War, No Warming" near the Longworth House Office Building. And yet:

"The individuals in polar bear costumes ... were singled out for arrest, despite not being disruptive, while more noisy protesters were free to leave, even walking by as Capitol Police arrested the individuals dressed as polar bears."

I assume the Complaint was filed in good faith,of course. So for anyone inside the Beltway, let me ask: what's up with the anti-polar bear bias? Or are the Capitol Police secretly in cahoots with Dick Cheney and Halliburton?

Obviously if they were black bears they would have been given a pass. But hey, they are white bears with a long history of discriminating against other mammals (Hello! Cute baby seal! Auuugh! Blood on the ice!)

And don't even get me started on panda rights... It's not like they're even real bears. It's a raccoon on steroids, for God's sake...

“A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and arm bears, shall not be infringed."

Obviously an assault on their Second Amendment Right.

People cause global warming; wars kill people. Ergo...

These people were trying to raise awareness of how the Iraq War was affecting global warming by dressing up as polar bears. I think the police were just trying to save them from being beaten to death by the rest of the crowd, who would naturally want to keep the four of them from reproducing.

The police officers were interfering with natural selection and should be disciplined.

Even though he died in 1984, Niemoller would, no doubt, be a big time environmentalist today.

Just think of the polar bears ,clinging to melting icebergs in the arctic, as olives in a giant cold vodka martini. God will either eat them or they will survive yet another round.

Oh no, nudity is just a form of "non verbal speech," protected by the First Amendment.

Shhhhhh...It's Polah Beah season......

Seriously, this is a lovely example of the adolescent liberal mindset. I will do everything possible to draw attention to myself, then when that causes me to be arrested I sue.

Morons.
