First Stop? U.S. Senate. Next Stop? White House.

No frills. Optimistic. Sincere. Articulate. And solidly conservative. You won't see many campaign ads -- or candidates, for that matter -- like this one.

He's light-skinned and he doesn't speak with a Lateeno accent unless he wants to.
Oh...and he's articulate. And clean.
Too bad he's so dumb he doesn't realize that Hispanics can't be Republicans.

I'd like to see you go as Harry Reid for Halloween, Kenneth. You have a few days to work on the high pitched whiny voice.

Exceptional ad. Now we just need to see what the old Republican bulls will let him and the other TP'ers do.

How about this 2012 President/VP Republican ticket? Marco Rubio, President/Star Parker, VP!
Both extremely articulate, with compelling life stories to tell, and, as a bonus, immune to having the race card played against them!

I already got an Alan Grayson costume. They're not exchangeable.

Rubio may be our last, best chance to talk some political sense in the the Hispanic community.
There is no group - possibly excluding low-skilled blacks - more negatively impacted by out-of-control illegal immigration.
But I wonder if he has the guts to do it. And I wonder whether the largely Mexican and Central American immigrant community is willing to listen to a Cuban in a preppy blazer?

The man has game, no doubt about it. I agree with the other Patrick that his future will only be limited by what the "establishment" permits. Unless he goes "establishment". Probably a bigger fear. D.C. can corrupt even the best.
But, first things first. He will win his race. We can convene the larger discussion a month from now.

It would be really fun to get to vote for him someday.

"I'm Marco Rubio, and I approve this message."
You know government is working like a well-oiled machine when a candidate is required by law to tell us he approves the words coming out of his own mouth.

Have you been to Miami? I know it's FAR from CA.
There's plenty of conservative Cubanos there.

Re: First Stop? U.S. Senate. Next Stop? White House.
Seems there's a great generation of conservatives just coming into their own. Maybe I won't lose hope after all. Of course, they still need to stay true and not get sucked into the Washington "way of doing things." Let's not carried way though. These younger conservatives need some time and experience before they step onto the national stage. They need achievements and records. But I like them! Go Marco! Go Chris!

I wish I lived in Florida just so I could vote for him. Instead I'm left to choose between the likes of Roy Blunt or Robin Carnahan, the thought of either makes me want to puke. It is encouraging however to see the rise of such incredible young leaders like Marco Rubio and Chris Christie in the last couple of years. It gives me hope.

Re: First Stop? U.S. Senate. Next Stop? White House.
I can certainly see Marco Rubio as the standard-bearer in 2016 or 2020. Let's let him get some seasoning, see if he's for real (and I think he is), then turn him loose on the liberals. He's more articulate than Obama and has the advantage of real sincerity.

Re: First Stop? U.S. Senate. Next Stop? White House.
I have been saying the same things about Palin, Christie, Rubio, and Allen West. Without exception they have all generated enthusiasm among today's Republicans. I was concerned because we elected an unknown to the Presidency in 2008.
I am starting to re-think that position. Nowhere in the Republican hierarchy can I see anybody who will take the new message to Washington.
I understand that it will take several election cycles to convert the Nation's Capitol fully but we don't have several cycles.
Something important and impressive must take place in the next two years - providing the GOP does succeed in controlling the House. Americans will not accept half measures from them. We will be watching and expecting. If they don't perform - if they don't reverse some of what has taken place - they'll be replaced.

Generally, Mexicans and central Americans aren't huge fans of Cubans. And vice versa. But I can see them liking him more than an old white guy with whom they have nothing in common. Also, I think he'd be able to connect with them with his personal story and his love of the American dream.
