This is serious stuff- if the Battle of Wisconsin is lost to the unions, via senate recalls and a politicized state supreme court election, the RNC Chair needs to go and we need someone in the job who recognizes strategic battles instead of fund-raising.  All I've seen of Priebus since the RNC election is weekly e-mails asking for money.  He should have been on the ground in Wisconsin the second the protests started, directing a communications and defense campaign.

There is no excuse for the very first battle of 2012, on the home turf of the Boy Wonder of Wisconsin, being basically ignored until too late.  Not much useful happens in 2012 if you can't hold what you won in 2010 and use those wins to make a difference.

History belongs to those who show up.  Unions can always hire a busload of stooges to come to any event.

Is Priebus the governor of Wisconsin?  Oh, that's right, Scott Walker is.  Guess what--the RNC chair is not GOD. Stop giving him the power to fix everything and put accountability where it belongs--to the elected officials in Wisconsin.

Ok, I am just not sure what Washed Hummer ooop...sorry, I mean Soaked Suburau ....  ehhhhh... uhhhhh... Rinsed Prius ought to have been doing in Wisconsin. You mean some sort of actual party activity, don't you?

I mean, they just called me this weekend asking for a donation and when I innocently inquired as to the game plan in Wisconsin - I was assured they had it well in hand - and could I please spare a $100.00.

I did inquire as to whether or not they had recouped the $900k they wasted on Dede Scozzafava - they haven't BTW. I just don't think I will be forking over 1/8 the price of a new Motorola Xoom tablet anytime soon.

Price of a Grande Latte, that I could do - but only once - my Grande Latte budget is committed elsewhere.

Is it Wednesday already? Did we lose the election and I missed it?

Kloppenburg is a woefully inadequate candidate, and despicably dishonest to boot. I have faith that my fellow Wisconsinites will do the right thing.

Yes, I get the sense that she is the Martha Coakley of Wisconsin. A generic liberal might have one this election, but Kloppenburg is just plain unappealing.

Not true.

Talk radio,  the internet blogs,  and the alternative media  are far more  the voice of the Tea Party  than the GOP.    It is they who have picked up the slack and supported Governor Walker  and fiscal responsibility  where the GOP leadership has once again failed.

I don't think this is a national Party problem. Maybe a State party problem, I don't know.

Priebus just got in the saddle. Even if he gets thrown off a time or two, that's no reason to disqualify him. Let him ride a while and see what he can do.

Seriously? You didn't watch the Tea Party rally on the grounds of the Wisconsin capitol, streamed live on Breitbart.tv, or follow the constant updates from the usual Tea Party folks on Twitter and by email?

We can re-visit this on Wednesday.  But if there were ever a time for an RNC chief who knows the territory to step in and help, this was it.  Haven't seen him at all.  But I got yet another e-mail this morning:

"It's official.  Barack Obama is running for re-election.  Unfortunately Hope Isn't Hiring.
By forming his campaign committee now President Obama is making it clear he plans to rake in $1 billion or more from the same liberal fat-cats that filled his campaign coffers in 2008."

If we can't handle the Wisconsin SEIU locally, how do we beat anybody in 2012?

GB, Love ya Brother, but it is already too late even if we wanted to swap leaders. The best we can hope for is that Toweled Toyota has a steep learning curve.

Personally, I think the RNC needs an aggressive mentality, a well functioning Operations Center and a really strong Battle Rhythm - I'll bet they are still waiting for the summer interns and the 5-years High School to MBA crowd to round out the worker-bees.

Nope, this will be a pickup game at the worker-bee level and they will be overwhelmed by the chiefs.

Howard Dean was terrible as a Pres candidate, but that dude was ALWAYS on my TV as DNC chair - why can't we get a worker like that?

judging from instapundit and ann althouse (fr madison wisconsin) reporting, the tea party presence there is minimal.

LOL, that was ONE rally compared to what... almost daily rallies by the union thugs and students at the State Capitol?

Chris Christie seems to be doing a good job re that. And Kasich too even though his approval numbers took a tumble. and here's what kaus tweeted yesterday:

kausmickey Dem govs are demanding deeper cuts from unions than GOP governors http://politi.co/epxwMM Wisconsin gives them cover.

You don't think that the fact that tax payers would get fired for flimsy claims of sick leave makes for an interesting contrast with the dues and tax funded union hooliganism? The major issue at hand was fleebagger Dems conspiring with public sector unions to bust the tax payers. Teachers, on public pay, marching illegally and on the tax payer's dime, sticking tax payer parents with unexpected chid care bills because the teachers of their children are scofflaw wildcatters.

Versus tax payers, sacrificing their spare time to rally and make their voices heard in good order. The Tea Party did it right.
