I don't much care for David Bowie. But I do like this Steven Crowder parody of David Bowie's song "Changes."  It's creepy and weird and wonderful. (Warning: The video includes a photograph of a naked rear end, which is not entirely CoC compliant.)

"Not entirely" or "Not at all"?

This is important!

Obama hasn't changed the economy very much, but he's real good at changing history.

So . . . . is one cheek OK, but two verboten?

Back to the subject:  Crowder is brilliant.

I know nothing about Bowie's politics, but the way he embraced the free market with his Bowie Bonds should impress.

Plus, I love his music, man.

What?

I don't understand what you mean.

I know that "Love, Actually" is your favorite movie, but this is a bridge too far, Diane.

Depends on whether you're going with the Peter Robinson originalist interpretation of the CoC, or Rob Long's living, breathing interpretation of the CoC.

Dude, have you ever seen the movie The Labyrinth? That movie gave me nightmares my entire childhood.

Best of the '80s movies, but now the song's in my head since we have no youtubes at work.

I'm on Diane's side about "Love Actually" and Mollie's side about David Bowie. Your editors -- building bridges, ladies and gentlemen.

Labyrinth is probably the only real reason I do like Bowie.  Never been a big fan of his music.

Crowder rules though.  I'd love to see him as a Ricochet contributor.  His viewpoint on social issues is uniquely and refreshingly counter-cultural.  There are very few conservatives (and particularly young conservatives) that present the case for traditional values as unapologetically and persuasively as Crowder does.

This is ridiculous. Love, Actually is just -- objectively speaking -- a bad movie.

Do you all eat cotton candy three meals a day, too?

Yes.  And funny.  Loved it!

It's been several years since I've seen "Labyrinth."  What is with the little bald guy?  I didn't get that part.  And then at one point there are four of them?

Why do you ask this?  Is it not generally done?

It is widely accepted Bowie can only be truly appreciated in Portuguese.

"This is ridiculous. Love, Actually is just -- objectively speaking -- a bad movie."

What are your objective standards in this regard?

Poor framing/lighting? Editing that cuts in the middle of dialogue?  Too many boom mics in frame?

Love, Actually is a part of my family's annual Holiday Film Festival.  We find only one of the arcs to have significant failings, and that is because it doesn't match the hopeful tone of the rest of the film.

Next you'll say you don't like The Wedding Crashers...or John Hughes movies...

I'll admit that Love, Actually is no About a Boy, but still "objectively... bad?"

I don't know Dianne,  this sounds like a throw-down ... and Troy,  doing the all-things-to-all-people gambit puts you at risk for the cotton candy smack down ...  will this be a tag-team match?
