As soon as Judith puts her kids to bed, we're going to do a podcast about Egypt. If you have questions, we'll try to answer them, although I have to warn you in advance--any pundit who says he or she knows what's going to happen now is just yanking your chain.

I think the more pertinent question is, what crimes warrant the death penalty? Adultery? Apostacy? Homosexuality? Blasphemy? · Jan 28 at 6:12pm
I think I'm arguing myself 'round to the position that no crimes warrant the death penalty. It is as or more cruel than amputation, so we should abolish both.
As for the 4 "crimes" you listed, I think most of us would agree that governments should not impose any penalties for them, let alone death.

Yes, that's my point. There's just a slight difference between executing Jeffrey Dahmer and Salman Rushdie.

He's fled to Europe, no? If so, is he brave enough to return? Maybe, Andrea, but I doubt it.

Actually, Judith and Claire, I got my info from the rabid Sunni mouthpiece BBC News, though I did see similar reports on Al-Jazeera. Fortunately, this guy had an answer to my question.
