Drew Carey for President
Having endured yet another Obama matinee presser, I've come to realize that the antidote to this presidency just might be . . . another fixture of daytime television.
Ladies and gentlemen, I give you: Drew Carey for President.
If you didn't know Carey as an ABC sitcom star, maybe you're familiar with his work as host of The Price Is Right, a fixture of American daytime broadcasting for the past half-century.
You won't find a happier place on the planet. As opposed to the Obama West Wing. People want to be in Drew Carey's company -- moreover, they don't have to pay upwards of $35,000 a ticket just to be in the same room.
And if it’s good times the nation seeks, maybe we should replace the sliver-tongued POTUS with the bow-tied game-show host.
Consider how they stack up:
CAREY: Giving away prizes for free (ok, you gotta pay taxes)
OBAMA: Giving away healthcare, definitely not for free
CAREY: “Come on down” – and the audience gleefully rushes to the stage
OBAMA: “Four more years” – spending $1 billion to coax a reluctant electorate
CAREY: “Over-under” game to win cash and prizes
OBAMA: “Over-under” game with bad consequences (federal overspending, underperforming economy)
CAREY: “Dice game” – roll of a die to win a car
OBAMA: “Dice game” – failed Kenyesian roll of the dice
CAREY: “Pass the buck” game – placing dollars on appropriate markers
OBAMA: ‘Nuf said
CAREY: Flanked by gorgeous showcase models
OBAMA: Flanked by David Axelrod and Robert Gibbs
CAREY: Wants to save Cleveland
OBAMA: Needs Cleveland to save him
CAREY: 4th year as host of a show that’s been on the air for 55 years, with no end in sight
OBAMA: 3rd year as host of a show that might be pulled off the air in January 2013.
Come to think of it, maybe this is way our intrepid President – when he’s not doing the matinee pressers—can be found on The View, not Drew Carey’s show. Easier competition.

What about an all-gameshow ticket: Carey/Sajak 2012

Re: Drew Carey for President
Couldn't we make a similar case for our good friend Pat Sajak?

I'm assuming Pat's too smart to run.
Though Vanna, assuming she's on board, could help deliver South Carolina . . .

Drew Carey is also a fixture on Reason.tv, where he has a series of videos on libertarian themes. So he's actually a whole lot better on policy than the Obama clown college.

And less math. Which is important for the President.

Re: Drew Carey for President
As with many people that might be decent candidates, Carey has a past. In his case he is not the beer drinker that his sitcom may have implied, because if he has 3 beers in him, he will do some very silly and, I assume, disqualifying, stuff.
Peronally, I find that sort of thing a bit endearing, especially when I hear other comedians talk about what a non-drinker he is and why he knows better than to allow himself to have more than a beer or two.
Sure, Obama's public physical indicated that he was perhaps drinking too much and smoking, but he's insulated and most Americans don't know that. Somebody like Carey will have his infrequent and past antics plastered all over the evening news.

Not to mention the fact that he was a Marine for 6 years (they let him keep the glasses)
