Whoops. Rob beat me to it. Still, I think cheesecake beats Fudgie the Whale, no?

Cheesecake is the new Ricochet standard.  A word which here means fully clothed, yet somehow suggestive.  I even tested it.

However, I think birthdays an occasion for commiseration rather than rejoicing.  So I raise a glass in sympathy, Claire Berlinski, Queen of Ricochet, keeper of the keys and herder of cats.

Plus, rather hot.

You have to enjoy your cheesecake while you can, before it gets too old. That's what you learn...when you get too old.

Paul A. Rahe

Isn't cheesecake a word that should be banned on Ricochet? The thing itself is, of course, another matter. Happy birthday, Claire!

Happy Birthday Claire (one of my favorite contributors! editors! muay Thai fighters! former CIA agents!)

And, I note that the picture appeared once before in a certain Member Feed post.

"Imperial Generalissima of the Zionist Front" is more like it.

What they said! Plus, I think I have a new definition of female beauty: someone who is beautiful both as a blonde and a brunette. All best wishes on the day!

How about adding these two to Claire's title:  "Protector of the Holy City of Istanbul, Guardian of the Memory of the Iron Lady".

So, with Bill's original, Michael's addition, and my own feeble effort we now have:

"Claire, Maximum Leader, La Serenissima, Protectrix of Felines, Preparer for Earthquakes, Imperial Generalissima of the Zionist Front, Protector of the Holy City of Istanbul, and Guardian of the Memory of the Iron Lady."  [I think we're now catching her essence]

I also believe that photo graced the back cover (paperback edition) of Claire's book Menace in Europe.  Which is why I bought the book--then, upon reading it, I said, wow, this is a good book.

Happy birthday, your Majesty, from your subjects at Ricochet.

Happy birthday! My gift to you is some fan praise:
"There Is no Alternative" is fantastic. My wife and I loved it.

Happy birthday, Ma'am.  I have much for which to be to be grateful to you in addition to your musings and insight here on Ricochet: viz., your two novels and the book about Mrs. Thatcher, all of which have provided me with many pleasant and instructive hours (and they have had only their first reading).

Do you swear that you are not a dual  agent for both the Mossad and the CIA in deep cover?

Happy Birthday, Claire - fully-clothed, as ever, I see, but I have become so accustomed to the brunette that the blonde comes as a bit of a shock :-)

I love how Bill Walsh's avatar looks like King Leonidas with a kitty on his lap.

"This ... is ... Sparta!!!   Oooh, look, a kitty!"

Despite my indifference to blondeness as a generic concept (to each his own and all that), Claire actually makes it look good.

But what's really sexy is the brain under the hair.

The Zombie Apocalypse comes early.  The preferred, Francis Urquhart-approved phrase is "cast of mind".  Though my preferred phrase is "hubba hubba!"

You may very well think that, I couldn't possibly comment.
