Greetings, Ricochetti, from the Chick-fil-A (actually one of two) in Des Peres, Missouri. The place is packed, the food is great, and my liberal sister-in-law is aghast. We're having a wonderful time.

I wish there were a Chick-Fil-A in Western Michigan so I could join in the fun -- and have their delicious waffle fries into the bargain. Have some for me, OK?

I've had "friends" on Facebook wish people eating Chick Fil A today food poisoning tomorrow. Tell me again about that "tolerance" thing?

Feed your sis-in-law a chicken sandwich and some cross-cut potatoes.  She'll change her mind.

I'll be visiting the location in Hollywood tonight around 10:30pm. Should be interesting.

Went to the Crystal City, VA Chick-fil-A next to PBS. The line was out the door, but processed in good time. While in line, my oldest and I ran across Mollie and Mark Hemingway and their kids. Mollie said it "Tasted like freedom!" Too much more of this boycott and they will see record earnings.

Here's my report. I was worried they were going to run out of food and I'd just have to throw money at them for the privilege of waiting in line for an hour!

I hardly ever eat fast food, and never fried chicken, but today I experienced an irresistible hankering for some oil-boiled poultry.

Lucky for me, coincidentally I had heard something recently about a joint that made a pretty good chicken sandwich.

At 2:50 this afternoon, the Chick-fil-A near the Galleria here in Houston was packed.

(Sorry the picture isn't great, but maybe you can see that the parking lot was overflowing, and the line for the drive-up window circled the store and backed up traffic on the Interstate Loop 610 service road. Inside, almost every seat was occupied, and the atmosphere felt like a celebration, which was especially fitting after the Ted Cruz victory yesterday.

The sandwich was pretty dern good, and the waffle fries could be addictive.

I skipped lunch because it was insane over there - but went back at 3:30 to pick up dinner. Still pretty crazy. about 3 people deep for 4 lines.   Everyone was thanking the servers for what they do.

The nearest Chick-fil-A to the Seattle area is 369-odd miles away, at Boise State University.  I checked...

Math problem:  At $3.65/gal, driving a F-150 that gets 16mph/highway, how much would a giant order of waffle fries cost?  Add in sandwiches for extra credit.

The local Chick-fil-A here around 3:00 PM was also packed at least twice more than even its normal lunchtime busyness.  There were a lot of people just waiting for their order, and they had extra employees outside helping to direct traffic.

To answer your math question, multiply the distance by 2 (for the round trip) then divide by the mpg, to get the gallons used.  Then multiply by the cost per gallon.  Thus, the fuel cost is 369 * 2 / 16 * $3.65 = $168.36.  The cost of a waffle fries?  I don't know, probably around $2-3 for a large.  Round it out and it comes to over $170.  With sandwiches, it approaches $180.  Of course, that doesn't factor in wear and tear on the car.

Lots of cars in line in Hampton, Virginia. The staff, bless their hearts, was extremely diligent in treating the overflow crowd with maximum courtesy. I happily explained to my 12-year-old that the lack of love is not equivalent to hate, that's why we were there.

I decided to make a point of eating at our local Chick-Fil-A this afternoon. It was packed, although apparently not nearly as much as it had been earlier in the day or would be later.

I probably wouldn't have bothered if it were only about supporting Biblical marriage.  The libertarian half of me wars with the social conservative Christian half and isn't really sure if the govt should even be in the marriage business, or that maybe if the govt allows churches to continue to follow their beliefs on the matter, what do we care if gay people marry in civil ceremonies or in liberal churches?

But when govt officials start threatening business owners' livelihoods and access to the marketplace because they disagree with their religious beliefs, that's when I get riled up enough to take a stand, even if it's only braving a long drive-through line for some chicken nuggets.

I have heard similar numbers in Savannah, Georgia and Franklin, Tennessee. These reports come courtesy of my extended family....everyone loves Waffle Fries...?...?
