Below, Troy Senik lets fly a beaut:

"Newt Gingrich is issuing pronouncements with the blindness and enthusiasm of a frat boy swinging at a pinata........" filled with beer.
or naked girls. One or the other. Or both.

I agree. That's been the best line I've read all day. I even tweeted it this morning!

I don't know what kind of fraternities y'all were around, but I don't recall ever seeing, much less swinging at a pinata when I was active in my fraternity in college.
Perhaps this gets at the same idea:
"Newt Gingrich is issuing pronouncements with the blindness and enthusiasm of a drunken fraternity boy desperate for a hook up at the end of a long night of carousing."

Matthew, when I was in the Navy one particular Master Chief I served with was fond of saying "go ugly early and get the best of the ugly."

Love it. As one of my partners puts it, "Don't cull nothin."

This is much better, by Jonah Goldberg:
"In this, they were playing catch-up with Mitch Daniels, Indiana’s extremely effective governor and putative front-runner among conservative policy wonks, the Bush family, and insomniacs."

Back to Troy: I would probably love Law Talk no matter who the moderator, but Troy's quips and witty transitions give it a lovely sparkle. It's fun to hear Epstein give a 10 minute disquisition on the history and constitutionality of a statue, prefaced by a giggle.

That is a wonderful line. "Law Talk with Epstein and Yoo" is my favorite Ricochet podcast, and Troy is the perfect host.
