Last month, a group of 20 House Democrats blasted Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas for making a mistake on his ethics disclosure forms. They demanded an investigation involving "possible criminal or civil legal sanctions."

While it's not exactly a secret that his wife works at the Heritage Foundation, he had neglected to mention it in the forms.

And it's interesting that they think the mistake warrants investigation and criminal sanctions ... since at least 14 of the 20 Democrats who attacked Thomas were forced to file amendments to their own ethics documents because of errors and omissions:

For example, Illinois Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. had to correct his filings from 2004 through 2006 because, he explained in January 2009, “due to a clerical oversight my previous financial disclosure statements inadvertently omitted information about my wife’s outside income.” So did Oregon Rep. Earl Blumenauer, who failed to mention his wife’s income from 2006 through 2010. Michigan Rep. John Conyers Jr. also made a mistake in listing his wife’s assets in his 2009 disclosure.

Monica Conyers, the Detroit congressman’s wife, is serving a 37-month sentence for taking bribes in exchange for her votes on Motown’s city council.

Ah, if only Ginni Thomas were in prison instead of at the Heritage Foundation. Then it would be cool.

I'm commenting because Mollie is obviously feeling underappreciated and didn't Billy Joel have his hip replaced?

....fool them all, but baby I can tell, you're no stranger to the street. Don't wait for answers, just take your chances, don't ask me why.

Awesome record!

Heh. You never know which posts will go on for 128 comments and which ones no one cares about.

But seriously -- 14 out of 20 of the signers had their own disclosure problems? You couldn't write it better.

Anyway, thank you for the love -- I will not feel so lonely now.

If nothing else, the feline Pepe Le Pew of Ricochet prowling the comment boxes ensures that the significant others of the Editrices don't ignore them for too long.

Its a shame our boys don't buy E&O insurance for such matters.

I think it goes to show that hypocrisy on the left is like moss in Washington state...after a while you don't even notice it any more.

Mollie, you nailed it. What is there to say? That the hypocrisy in DC is thicker than mud? Dog bites man! If these people were of any worth, the folks back home would have kept them there!
