This just in from our beloved Dave Carter, who wanted me to know why he probably wouldn't be posting for a couple of days.  Dave, always thinking of Ricochet--even under duress.

Dear Peter,

Well, the bad news is that I'm in the hospital again with another kidney stone....

The good news that my nurse is interested in joining Ricochet.  He's a very conservative gentleman, and anxious to learn more about Ricochet, which I am happy to help grow, one stone at a time.

Pass the pain meds,

Dave

Spare a prayer for Dave.  He may remain the very picture of good cheer, but this hurts.

I am blessed to have never had kidney stones.  However, a very close friend has had several, and I've seen him in what appears to be great pain.

I once asked him why they were so painful. I hope his response doesn't violate the CoC.  He said, "Just imagine what it's like to pee out a brick, a very rough brick."

Message received.

God bless you, Dave.

Do you think Dave could get Alphonse to do a post on Dave's kidney stone?  We're talking about a Ricochet classic.

As with tabula rasa, I am blessed not to have had this affliction, but know from friends how painful it is.  I am sorry to hear the news and hope the pain meds are being copiously supplied.

If Dave were only named "Julia," he could rest assured that the Obama administration would have some program to help relieve his suffering.

PS, Godspeed, Dave. You're a rock, and that beats the hell out of a stone any day!

Dave,

I will pray for the quick and least painful passing of your unwelcome intruder and also a prayer that when you are back on the road you will leave no turn unstoned.

This too shall pass.

Take care, Dave, and get well soon.  Shiny side up, greasy side down.

Get well soon, Dave.

I've been told lemonade is good for preventing kidney stones.

Something about the stones the kidneys rejected becoming corner stones...

Get well soon, Dave!

Don't give him any ideas.

Seriously though, prayers sent, and God bless Dave. He seems to be getting these a lot.

My father had them once:  excruciating pain.  I will be praying for a speedy recovery, Dave!

Taking advantage of the reprieve just after the last dose of joy juice. Thank you all so very much for the well wishes. Feels like family here. And on behalf of my pain meds, I'd like to say, hjjjg. Jfajsc schnorofk dj ookf. Going back to sleep now.
