Never having suffered the Politically Correct curriculum on English and American literature, and given that they are full to the brim of degenerates, muck-rakers, scoundrels, and ne'er do wells, I can't wait to discover what the PC version was supposed to be. Then again, I always wondered why Melville cluttered up a perfectly good whaling manual with those odd story bits. Holden Caulfield would have gone over much better with some chapters dedicated to the care and operation of a carousel.

Seymour Glass could have used some construction chapters. Studding, wiring, plumbing, roofing.

This might have made liberal arts useful again.

Darn. I am nearby in Baltimore, but being Shabbos, I cannot attend.

Any interest in a Bal'more get-together?

Jonathan Horn

I wish I could make this, but, alas, I have another commitment that day. Let's be sure to do it again soon.

Bawlmer? Always have interest.

I wouldn't mind going to DC on 5/5, but this one is a conflict. Have one for me!

So sad I can't come! I just received Elizabeth Kantor's book in the mail and look forward to jumping into it.

Have fun everyone. Take pictures!

I happen to be in town visiting my Annapolitan parents, so I'll definitely be able to make it.

I don't suppose St Salieri is local to DC? Would so love to talk theology with him . . .

We will be pulling together a special for King Prawn's DC adventure on or around June 11. Just figuring out the details, but it will be near Vermont Ave in the district.

We can put one between the two cities. Mrs. Sisyphus recommends the Timbuktu Restaurant in Hanover.

Unfortunately, as much as I would like to be there, I will now not be flying into the DC area until Sunday! :-(

What? That sounds cool. After today's discussion, I'm wondering if "near Vermont Ave. in the district" means we're going to be meeting at the 9:30 Club, near the intersections of Vermont Avenue and Florida Avenue and 9th Street, NW. The Scottish post-rock band Mogwai will be playing that night ...

I was actually torn between suggesting the Old Ebbit Grill, a fine historic DC site where Presidents once trod, but a little pricey, or a family restaurant (with slim pickings beyond IHOP). Not done canvassing the neighborhood. I always found the 9:30 Club too loud for my tastes, especially on a work night. But it sounds like a great follow on to Claire's zoo trip.

When does the show start? Maybe we can do dinner and then split up per individual taste.

Mrs. ChristmasBeard and I are planning on being there. We'll have a couple young 'uns with us.

Shouldn't we be calling this the Cinco de Quatro Meetup?
