His little girl wanted to be Darth Vader, but Pink. He made it happen. This dude is a hero.

I am more than weary of the latest news, so this was a welcome diversion.

If you have a cool costume to share, please do.

Imagine the conflicted thoughts going through the mind of the Imperial officer being force-choked by this monster!

Many props to the man who made Princes Vader. It is both terrifying and cute, a perfect combination.

My daughter, named Wally, wanted to be "Where's Waldo?" at the last minute. I had  spray paint a tee shirt for her.

My dad once made a mailbox costume for me out of cardboard.

It was so good that it fooled people.

I would sit on the street corner and jump at people when they walked past.

Scared the heck out of them.

'Twas awesome.

Mr. EJHill?  Are you checking this out?  Your dream 24-hour dictator's dictate seems to be enacting itself all over the land of Ricochet.

Nicely done! Being in showbiz you sure have learned to improvise.

The Mary Sue has some really cool kid costumes posted. Here's another variation on the theme, Batman Princess, the little one's idea, of course.

I like the t-shirt but the glasses are also very cool.  Where did she find them?

Borrowed from a friend who was Harry Potter a couple of years ago.  Just popped out the lenses.

So am I the only one that wouldn't get a pink Darth Vader costume for my daughter? Darth Vader is attired in black. Period. Anyway, my daughter will find out about customization and choice soon enough; I don't want to encourage a princess delusion in the mean time.

Well, for Halloween I don't mind it at all. But I do feel the same about pink baseball caps.

Nerd.

And yes, you are correct....

Your reasoning is flawless. Wise, conservative and nerdtastic all at once.

But that Pink Vader Rig is cool as hell, and she is wielding that light saber with a full on Vader stance. She means business!

She's the Chuck Yeager of Star Wars Gender Norms.

Well, I don't say this out of some nerdly fidelity to the movie. I find the demand for such hyper-customization to be a bit offputting. Can't we any longer appreciate an idea or creation for what it is without bringing our grubby selfishness into the matter? Yes, I know, "grubby selfishness" can spur innovation and improvement. But there is progress and then there is caprice.

You're aware that you're talking about Darth Vader here, right?

It's not like Star Wars is a sacred text.

Seriously, when a little girl says to her daddy that she wants a pink Darth Vader costume for Halloween, the father is supposed to reply, "I'm sorry dear, but that would be an insult to George Lucas' vision. How about you dress up like Jar Jar Binks instead?"

Ed G., you are a true conservative. But Misthiocracy is right, his ruthless and brutally  effective playing of the Jar Jar Binks card (the Fat Man and Little Boy of nerdgumentation) notwithstanding.

Lucas is notorious for shrinking Wookies and somehow further de-sexy-fying Natalie Portman in the relentless effort to ruin his creation with each re-release.

The fanboys, and in this case, the fandad, get my support.
