Our own George Savage informs us that his aunt, Phyllis Schneck, was one of the people killed by Jared Lee Loughner in this morning's terrible shooting. George, please know that the entire Ricochet community mourns with you, and that you and your family have our most heartfelt sympathy and prayers.

Dr. Savage,

I'd like to extend my sincere condolences on behalf of your aunt Phyllis.  Sudden and senseless deaths are always unsettling, yet somehow distant.  Your loss hits much closer to home, and I can only imagine the accompanying distress.  My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Regards,

Mago

I want to say something comforting, but comfort will come from God, in time.  I believe I speak for many when I say we are all sorry for your loss.  Our prayers are with you and the rest of your family.

My sincere condolences for yours and your family's loss, Dr. Savage. May your aunt be in peace and those she left behind find a way to fill the void in their lives from her loss.

George Savage

My deepest thanks to all for your prayers and condolences; they mean a lot.  Please pray especially for the family of Christina Green, the beautiful nine-year-old girl who was also killed.  I can think of no greater tragedy than the death of a child.

Finally, I hope the media manage to climb out of the well worn Hate Radio/Gun Control trench and focus some attention on the lethal gaps evident in our mental health care system.

Impossible to know what to say.  We Robinsons will remember your aunt in our prayers at church today--and pray as well for all those killed or injured, including that little girl.

George,

I am so sorry to read this. I've been thinking a lot about the poor families of these victims and had no idea it included family here. Praying for your aunt's family and friends, as well as those who loved other victims.

God Bless you and your family, George.  And I couldn't agree more about the gaps in our system.

We prayed specifically for you and your family at church today, George, along with all of the other families who have suffered loss and anguish due to this evil act.  I'll be continuing to lift you up in prayer.

My deepest sympathies.Somehow, reading this thread has brought the real human tragedy into focus and caused me to look beyond the politics and think about the people.I will have my own personal moment of silence in honour of each of them.

My many condolences, George.  May your aunt's memory always be a blessing.
