Michael Steele sent this letter to the RNC Membership launching his re-election bid.  His apparent plan for an RNC comeback?  Baffle 'em with a blizzard of typos and lousy grammar.  The war against the "shift" key is a canny move too.

It's ebonics - an extension of his "homeboy" campaign strategy (see my post on the Member Feed).

 LOL!  Foshizzle ;-)

A big tent, apparently.

I especially love this tidbit:

Politico’s Mike Allen reported that “Steele refused to communicate with his own staff as [he] prepared his bid from a Gmail account.”

Which conjures up a whole Steele-in-a-bunker image.

"... the RNC will redouble its efforts and continue to
grow dramatically its small donor base suing tools like new media... "

Good grief. So he's suing the new media now?

He also has the same love for the "enter" key as whoever writes the RNC's please-donate letters, where every sentence is its own paragraph. Maybe those letters really were from him.

This is completely unacceptable.  At the very least, the Republican Party should be the more professional political party.  I would be irate to see a colleague send this sort of letter to a client.

ee cummi..I mean...[M]ichael [S]teele's casual move from "grassroots" to "grass roots" is a shrewd way of getting the HQ front lawn re-turfed.

Clearly it's a fake.  Thirty years from now, folks will be sure of that, as they point out that nobody, in this day and age of context and spell checkers (as idiosyncratic as they sometimes may be) could possibly have produced such an illiterate mess and expected it to be taken seriously.  My question is, who's responsible for it, and what's their goal?

We will do so by continuing to build our unmatched small donor programs and augmenting it with an expanded and updated major donor program which takes into our new reality.

I need an aspirin.
