I posted an item on Ricochet in November laying out three reasons why Republicans would do better in the upcoming debt debate than they did in 1995-96.  It turns out that Republicans did do much better this time around, and the three reasons I predicted – Boehner’s political skills, a more anti-spending caucus, and the development of more conservative media outlets – all played an important role in making the old Clinton playbook officially defunct.  That’s the summary; the full text of my post-mortem is available at Conservative Home.
