Someone send Karl Rove a bouquet of flowers. He's made another great ad, this one with Clint Eastwood's gravely voice putting the shiv into the Obama record:

Effortless.

Turns out that Clint Eastwood -- the guy that all the lefties in the media giggled and smirked at during the RNC -- is an effective and powerful voice for Romney.

Interesting, isn't it? It's been a campaign of smirks and eye rolls from the other side. Hasn't been terribly effective.

Smirks and eye rolls are all you've got left when your candidate's meme is a vacant stool. The President Who Isn't There: a gift that keeps on giving. Thank you Mr. Eastwood.

OK.  Would someone please tell me . . . . Do these ads end up on TV or just circulate on the internet?  I've sent some real cash to American Crossroads.  I  hope to see this ad show up on my screen.  We could use a little Clint Eastwood in northwest Ohio.

Clint Eastwood v. Morgan Freeman.

I wonder if they email each other?

I'm sure they do given that Clint directed Mr. Freeman's superb talent in The Unforgiven. What a movie.

As to the ad, it lays out some stats to support the premise and creates a sense of urgency. Well done.

Oh, this one will be showing up in the swing states.  Extensively.  On a side note, here is my favorite Eastwooding moments.

Do you know how hard it is to get a dog to look like Eastwood?

grotiushug...I was afeared someone would make that phonetical connection. Please wipe that stupid grin off your face and excuse yourself from the table. We be ladies and gentlemen here.

Great ad.
But would someone please take the phrase "double down" outside and kill it with fire?
Most annoyingly ubiquitous viral trend among scribblers since "Kabuki".
